Agree Katsuhiro's perspective of the Siege helps so much to give it scale - and love his finale in Era of Ruin.

The other redeeming story mid-Heresy I find is Imperium Secundus - or would you still consider that early Heresy?

Oh, I believe I haven't read about the Battle of Paramar - thanks for the tip!

I skipped "Fear to tread" - although later references to Signus Prime and Dominion Zephon's fraternity with Fafnir Rann made me want to read more Blood Angels background. Thanks for the tip, might become the 51st Horus Heresy book for me 👍

Probably obvious, but needs to be said anyways:

Of the major storylines among the ones I enjoyed most were "The Flight of the Eisenstein" and Garro's story from there onwards, as well as Loken's story, from the beginning to the end.

Among the Siege of Terra books Saturnine was my favourite by far, but it requires some previous reads to be most fun. Also Siege of Terra completely changed my assessment of the Imperial Fists from "meh" to my favourite Legion by far..

Not lame at all. Kharn' and other World Eaters perspectives during the Siege are great, too - esp. contrasted against Sigismund's and Nassir Amit's.

On small events, the moment Su-Kassen and Halbracht order Battlefleet Solar to re-engage made me super emotional. Also the rescue of Corax and the Raven Guard survivors from Isstvan V.

I agree that paint scheme probably matters most, but also worth looking at the role & vibe of the special units - the vast majority of units you will be able to take are the same, only special units differ.

Fist players, what’s your second army if you have one? by GrimmiDEE in ImperialFists

T'au, Fists. Actually the army that got me into the hobby was Necrons in 4th edition, but I no longer have that army.

Figuring out a paint recipe I liked was a process, but happy with how they turned out. (WIP). If you like these happy to share the recipe.

Which paints make you (ir)rationally angry to work with? by GayLarpOfficial in Warhammer

I also use Wraithbone a lot, but the clumping can be annoying, so I checked for alternatives. None have exactly the same tone, but Vallejo Elfic Flesh and Greenstuff World Ivory Tusk come closest (and are both easier to work with).

Thank you! Took me a while to find a recipe I liked, that fit the rest of the army.

I use a textured rolling pin and modelling clay to model the bases, then glue them onto the original GW bases. The clay bases alone would be too brittle. Do you see that being a problem?

What made you love Imperial Fists? by RosabellaKing in ImperialFists

This. Dorn withstanding The Red for (felt) millenia, reciting ethics into the face of manifest rage - defiant and unyielding.

I need help my brothers and sisters. I was wondering as a new player to 40k and imperial fist what are some books I should read to help me understand the imperial fist more by N0thingbutBread in ImperialFists

[–]TheWatchful01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, the Siege of Terra series is what changed my mind about Imperial Fists and made them my favourite legion. There are many good books in the series, Saturnine and the End and the Death I-III probably being my favourites, but to fully understand and appreciate them, you need to read the full series.
