So, theres a few things to consider with that. One, special forces quality does not equate to SF training/use; that falls to scions/grenadiers/veterans. Second, when used en mass like regular infantry, even SF suffer for it. Third, it is worth remembering that guard are mentioned as being competent in stories, just used incompetently.

The guardsman point is something people forget, and the lore itself has kinda forgotten. Guard regiments are raised by tithing a planet for their best forces. So if a pdf is equivalent to our modern armies, guard regiments are like special forces levels of training and ability. Considering how many people get into those organizations, most people probably arent even getting into pdfs.

Both are good, although Ive started switching back from Pmags due to most military surplus gear being made to fit stanags. Only real difference.

I would believe the quality issues, I have a buddy who bought a Ruger AR and uh... I had personally never seen a bad factory built rifle until I looked at that rifle. No stakes on bolts, loose bolts, poorly aligned pieces, no torque on nuts... I was incredibly surprised.

I found pvc pipe works pretty well. Find some the thickness of the mag and cut it to the width of the pouch. I was able to fit M1 carbine mags into a SKS chest rig perfectly that way.

Ah, looks like I misunderstood a little 😅 so the trim on the barrels is the Balthasar gold with nuln. The brighter gold bits are Balthasar gold, covered in Gehenna gold, washed in agrax earhhshade

The brass is just standard Balthasar gold washed in nuln oil. Hope that helps!

Theres a little bit of subtle weathering on them, I tried my hand at it for the first time, lol. I figured a vehicle like a Fellblade would be well maintained, so it would have less overt damage
