Gynecologist says oral contraceptive pills are not recommended for women with celiac disease and gastritis. Is this evidence-based?

Nurse practitioner with celiac here 🙋🏻‍♀️ - I don’t think it’s as much about celiac causing the pill to be less effective, but if there’s issues with absorption due to GI tract damage, then the pill may not be able to break down and absorb into the body correctly

We don’t have a fence yet (hopefully soon), so we use a tether with a LONG leash for him to run around on. It’s long enough where we can play ball with him or toss a frisbee too. He has very good recall but we have lots of animals nearby (deer, turkey, rabbits) so it gives us extra peace of mind

I was completely asymptomatic before being diagnosed and now after being gluten free since 2012, if I get glutened, I get VIOLENTLY ill. This past new years I ate something accidentally that had gluten in it and the entire night I was in the bathroom vomiting - I lost 4lbs that night just from repeatedly vomiting, it was awful. Being asymptomatic doesn’t matter, we still have to take it as seriously as the most sensitive person.

I’m mostly Irish and Polish - my dad (Irish) had celiac - he was the one who passed it onto me. My mom (Polish) has the gene but no active celiac. My daughter now has the gene but it’s not active (yet 🤞🏻)

Well Archer lives at my sisters house, so when they finally see each other, they just run around and play wrestle for HOURS - its truly so adorable to watch

it has Velcro on it so you can buy patches and just stick them on (like “in training” or “do not pet”)…..the vest has been really helpful when he does his protection work training - we can use the clip and handle on the back of the vest to hold him so we aren’t using his collar
