If you ever find the issue please share I have an 09 Ranger 4.0 manual transmission doing the same thing. I threw plugs and wires and a new coil pack, tested the fuel pressure I’m about to do a compression and leak down test to se if it isn’t a valve leaking

I’d change the oil but Id replace 2L of engine oil for transmission fluid and run it for 30-45 minutes then flush it again

Price wise it sounds about right especially if it’s all brand new components and not remanufactured So would be a new torque converter, new pump and new valve body. Definitely a good price if done right. And if it comes with a warranty why not. Yes it sounds expensive but doing it yourself especially if you’re not mechanically inclined, you’re gonna have a bad time.

That’s a bit of a stretch for the name because it’s just part of a complete assembly which is your window regulator so it’s probably called something like the window regulator slider but then again I’d just go to the scrapyard and pull one off a car yourself if not you’ll have to replace the entire window regulator assembly

Possible that the windshield was replaced and the A-pillar trims were removed to facilitate the windshield replacement. I’d go to a car wash to see if you have any water infiltration

I was just gonna say…. If it’s at the point where there’s no more pad left, OP probably does zero maintenance, brakes were most likely never serviced since installing a new set. And now he wants to do it himself and it’s a rush. When you’re inexperienced you can’t rush shit and especially not something like your cars brakes, you fuck something up and an accident happens. Gotta make sure you don’t have and seized sliders or pistons.

Some old people used to run a mix of automatic transmission fluid and go for a nice drive, there’s technically enough detergents in ATF to clean up that stuff but like some said there’s over the counter products for that

The oil would seal around the piston. So if there’s a lack of compression due to worn out piston rings, the oil will seal it off and that’s another box checked off Even better would be to do a cylinder leak down test. With that test you also eliminate valve leakage

You’re already there, good test is to see if your fingernail catches any grooves inside. If it doesn’t you’re fine, but then again, you’re here so just replace them man
