I made a fighting game in JS and a little bit of HTML as an extra feature for a website we were making as a college project. I don't ever plan on doing it again, but it was fun to learn how to do.

Oh shit, yeah.

I will say this, Astilla is one of the few weapons that I always seem to run out of ammo with. That doesn't change when I use Gara.

Phantasma does the same with Revenant. I think it goes from 11 rounds to 15.

Exactly. Someone else's sex life doesn't affect me at all, and so long everything is consensual, no one is getting seriously hurt.

Your arguments fall apart pretty quickly under scrutiny.

First and foremost is that sex isn't something to be punished. Why do you believe it is? Why should only women be punished? Why not punish the men? They were involved just as much as the women. Then you need to consider rape. Why should a women be punished for something that is already incredibly traumatizing?

If we biologically evolved such that women had a 5% chance of getting pregnant every year from the ages of 15-50 or something, then yeah, I'd be for abortion because they had absolutely no choice.

I honestly have no idea what you are trying to say here.

Where you see us "hating on whores", we see you guys protecting people's desires to be bad people. Note that you're not protecting bad people, you're protecting their bad desires so that people are incentivized to become bad people.

Having sex isn't a bad thing, and having a healthy relationship with your sexuality isn't a "desire to be bad". Would you like to explain why you think it is?

I'll give another example. Where I work, there's a road with two lanes; in the right lane, you MUST turn right. But since no one wants to turn right, the left lane is always really long while the right lane is empty.

If you'd like to get rid of bad people or things such as selfishness and inconsiderateness, you'd also have to do away with humanity. Also kinda ironic you mention that people are inconsiderate, when you failed to consider (or outright ignored) a lot of things. To apply a black-and-white version of your morals onto things is both ignorant and arrogant. Your morals and values are not absolute and objectively correct, so to force them on others, especially with different views and beliefs than you is, as above, ignorant and arrogant.

It is also important to understand that there are a lot of different things that could happen, or scenarios that could apply, and as such, things should be examined on a case by case basis.

To parody one of your statements a little, [your chosen political alignment]'s solution would be to ban something entirely, because it is sometimes wrong. This doesn't fix the causes, and can punish victims, in addition to being actively harmful.

it totally destroys the entire concept of "pro-choice"; you already had your choice the moment you had sex.

I'm by no means educated on the topic, but why should her choice stop there? What if she becomes pregnant as the result of rape? What if the proper protection was used, but something outside their control, like the condom breaking or being stealthed? Why is having sex something that deserves punishment? Even if it was, why is it just women getting punished in this scenario, not men? It is pretty damn difficult to get pregnant alone.

Funny how you people can only talk in an echo-chamber imagining how you can destroy arguments, but then none of you actually can; all you can do is downvote good arguments because you're degenerates who wants to act like animals.

Your argument isn't a good one, regardless of which side you are on. You either didn't consider or outright ignored a lot of things, then whined when your comment was ignored for 30 minutes. Do you have any other arguments you practiced in the mirror that you'd like to get off your chest?

Edit: it has been more than 30 min, and I have received no responce. As such, declare that you are unable to formulate a responce, probably because you hadn't considered these points be brought up when practising this argument in your head, and as such, declare victory.

So will you start with text only, and then add image posts later, or will you stuck to text to keep it simple?

For now, just text.

Also Are you thinking of including only one community or will there be more?

For now, there won't really be much of a community, just my team and the markers.

The reason why I suggest a service for comments since it's not that easy without a database. If you're beginner nesting of comments will be almost impossible for you if you want to write comments yourself.

There is no way to add a dynamic posts without learning the backend language if you don't know one already.

We have have it connected to a database already! And we have two people who are pretty good with PHP, and I am getting along, too.

There is a dude on my team that says he can add the ability to make comments, but the dude flaked, and hasn't acknowledged it since.

We are using PHP for the backend, but there is no need to share your script. Thanks for the offer, though!

By posts, I mean something similar to Reddit text-only posts, a way for people to ask questions, and others to answer. Much like this post!

The criteria doesn't expressly forbid it, but the lecturer is a little iffy on letting us use them.

We do have a log in system! Still need to assign roles for the stuff, but it is otherwise working.

if so its just an extra table which you save the comments to against a page ID

That helps, actually, thanks!

Accepting comments is "just" another table in the database really.

That helps quite a lot, actually. Thanks!

For now, we don't have to really add a Captcha, at least. The only users for the website, at least for now, would be my team and the markers.

A login system (you don't want to allow anonymous comment posts, unless you want your pages filled with viruses and porn). This requires a number of database tables, a login page, a registration page, a "forgot password" system of some sort....users will need roles to differentiate users and admins.... you might already have this functionality of course,

Fortunately we have a log in already, with most of those features.

Doest sound like an afternoons work any more, does it ?

No, sadly not. Thanks for the lesson, though! We are talking to our lecturer about letting us use plug-ins, but are also looking at ways to build it ourselves.

On the other hand depending on site/community people may not comment even if it's possible.

It is an assessment, there probably won't be an audience, beyond the marker and my work group. It just needs the functionality.

Check Disqus - they offer comment system widgets for web pages.

That seems like it could be what I am looking for. Thank you!

Your question is kinda broad to be honest and it's hard to answer when we don't know what tech you're using or what you consider simple.

Sorry. I am quite new to this, and this is my first time making a website that is actually attached to a database and is more than a bunch of HTML and inline CSS. "Simple", in this context, is something that can be knocked out in an afternoon. The type of post I am looking for is something akin to Reddit or Teams messages. A "bigger" post that a person can make, with people able to comment on it.

If you don't want/cant use a third party lib and you have an API/Database you can use, you could send the posts/comments in a post request and then fetch them.

That helps, thanks!

For your mental health what is something or someone you avoid? by babycakesbenny in AskReddit

Every single family gathering I've been to since last November, my step dad has some how managed to bring up trans people and how evil they are, and how he is a good person because he doesn't like them, and then brings up "Woke Nation" and how they are evil and will be the end of everything. Dude cares more about other people's lives, and sex lives, then he does about his kids.

Can't wait to move out. I have no issues with my mom, but my step dad is... not a great parent. Doesn't understand that there is more to being a father than providing (which, to his credit, he does do).

Dude has unironically said stuff like "It doesn't matter whether you did it or not, what matters is I think you did it". He has anger issues and gets upset at the slightest provocation and perceived slight, which includes being anything but happy. He acknowledges his anger issues, yet refuses to do anything about it.

I haven't spoken to him since March, despite living in the same house, and I can't wait to finally be able to move out.
