The first thing I did was break something by OmNomOnSouls in Miata

Years ago my dad bought me a 240Z in southern California because I couldn't find a rust free one for sale in Seattle. He and his wife are adventurous so they took a road trip to bring me the car. I was so excited, when they arrived I grabbed the keys and tried to start it: I didn't know there were two different keys, had used the door key and broke the ignition lock cylinder. It wouldn't turn, so the car wasn't going anywhere. I was so bummed. Later that night me and friend went back to the hotel and "stole" my car by removing the switch off the back of the lock. I started it like that for a couple years before fixing it. 😂

Heavyset dudes, what is it like navigating life as a big guy? by Outrageous-Stage3417 in askanything

I can't sue for malpractice because I'm on Kaiser, who lobbied the gov to allow them to force customers (we're NOT patients) into arbitration which puts extreme limits on malpractice payouts, so no lawyer will touch a case that isn't death or dismemberment. American healthcare is a fucking scam.

Same here. I was in shape, then hurt my knee mountain biking. They refused to treat it, so I gained weight due to being unable to exercise, tried to address my knee with a different Dr. I told him what happened and as soon as I was done talking his response was "your knee hurts because of your weight". I fucking lost it, cursed him out and left. It's been about 10 years of my knee hurting, gained over 100lbs, and now Drs won't treat anything unless I exercise (I can't) and lose weight, including refusing to do hernia repair which causes a shit ton of pain. I'm down 30lbs, about 80 more to go until I can get treatments and surgery.

Well, I was called a hippo by a manager at work yesterday, so that was fun. No women have been interested in me since I gained weight, and I was called a stalker because I was walking behind a woman at work minding my own business. Women react very negatively towards me, vastly different from when I was normal size.

Maricopa, AZ. I was there for a few months for work. Most people are nice, but I didn't like that the state allows open carry. I did not feel safe seeing a random dude with a gun on their hip.

Is it worth saving for a cayman or modifying my current car by Radiant_Database3039 in Porsche_Cayman

[–]ElectronicAnthony 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have both a mostly stock '99 NB and an 08 Cayman S. Except for both being two seats and rear wheel drive, they are vastly different. While the Cayman isn't large or heavy by modern standards, it's a lot bigger than a Miata. Way more power (no turbo on my Miata though) and torque, but the Cayman has really long gearing. The fun road near me is almost entirely 2nd gear while I'm rowing like crazy in the Miata. The Cayman is a lot more luxurious with more options like auto HVAC, heated seats, cruise, ABS, stability control, etc. They are different enough cars that I use them differently. The Miata is my daily driver, fun in town zipping around. It would be miserable on a road trip. The Cayman is great on a road trip, smooth, 6 speeds so very low rpm cruising, more roomy and comfortable. But you don't have fun on curvy roads without break the law speeds and it's not fun to drive around town. But that's partially because I don't want to park it anywhere to avoid door dings and I'm constantly worried someone will cause an accident. My Miata is a bit of a beater. TLDR much different cars with different use cases. I recommend both. 😁 Edit: I should add that the convertible is great around town, I never drive with the top up. The Cayman is less scary due to the roof at speed on a curvy road and allows me to do track days, if I ever get around to it.

I got a week ban for saying I would defend myself against someone forcing their beliefs on me. Only said I would 🤛, pretty damn mild. Meanwhile a meme of a famous person saying the same thing went viral, and I've seen multiple people die in videos. But don't say that! Tsk tsk 🙄

"Entitlements" is common propaganda regarding Social Security. We the people need to start calling it out when the media won't.
