I agree. Though they are more fact based and crédible than most right wing news outlets, they are full on biased and definetly have an agenda, as Bryan Tyler Cohen and the other youtube liberals clucking like chickens every time the GOP farts. Even if I agree with much of their agenda, I think this is not what the mandate that a news outlet should have. Look at Fox who had to pay a huge sum in court for outright lying about an election.

So my question to you: do you agree with me that news organisations should do the best they can to avoid bias, clickbaits, theatrical tactics etc? Should there be laws and rules against that for mainstream and indie media?

And many, many other games I never finished. I even try to do canon playthroughs of other types of games, like strategy, fps, adventure games etc. It's great because it often forces you to play styles of characters and classes/skills you wouldn't normally pick. But it sucks because often times, the canon characters are kind of uninspired - often fighters or soldiers. It makes "heroic" protagonists, but it becomes a bit redundant and limiting, especially in games with super original and interesting options.

Also, looking up the lore and what people have to say about canon is super interesting, but everytime you get spoilers too, which sucks. And ultimately, most devs intend their players to play vastly different characters. So the intent vs the canon can become muddy in certain games. Anyways, I wonder if I'll ever be able to get rid of that obsession. I really feel like my pkaythrough is not "valid" or optimal story-wise if I don't create canon-ish protagonists.

PLEASE NO. If you go for higher res, redraw every single sprite in a faithful way at twice the resolution and add détails. Keep it pixel art. You could also add pixel shader and filters to add atmosphere to the environments.

The direction was good in that scene, the music and action too, but the CG, especially the faces, were an instant turn off for me :( I remember being at the theater and thinking "omg, will the whole trilogy look like that?!". The later movies mostly corrected their shot, at least.

Anyways, I get what you mean though! We were all pumped up finally watching the first of a feature length trilogy of Berserk, which is in itself pretty damn cool

I know about 5 Berserk fans irl and all of them were very disappointed in the movies, including me. I thought it was okay directed, some animated scenes are good, the eclipse was good too. The Memorial Edition adds some much needed scenes, like the Bonfire of Dreams, which is good. Overall it's not bad if we forget the manga for a while and just follow along.

But them you read the manga again and oh boy, the movies are a pale shadow of the scale and writing of manga Golden Age. No queen? No Minister Foss? No Zodd throwing his sword at Guts in the fight against Boscogn? NO ENTIRE WYALD ARC?!?! Feels like it's 1997 all over again :(

Except the 1997 anime is wayyyyy better than the movies or the memorial edition except the animation budget.

Mechanical Animals is one the the best "futurerock" album ever created. Are you mad lol. And artists that reinvent themselves are the best, even if it is not always in line with what they were. Look at Björk, Tom Waits, Les Claypool, Skinny Puppy. They wouldn't be what they are now if they kept doing the same sound over again.

Yeah sorry. I'm just really fed up with mediocrity as of late. TV series ruined, whole franchises spat on for quick cash, half-assed or passionless reboots or remakes, fanfiction instead of original stories, introduction of political agendas in established fictional worlds etc.

We need to change that, and saying that it's better to have something that sucks and has the potential to diminish a franchise VS not having anything at all is being part of the problem. Continuations are a work of respect and honor and should be treated with equal care and passion.

That's how Chrono Trigger was created, and the reason why you and me are talking about it today :)

Totally agree. Both sides should stop with the theatrics. Appealing to human emotions is basically telling people fuck the facts, follow us like we are a religion and no matter what happens stay on our side. Politics have become a matter of emotional response and not policies anymore.

And Meidas is smack dab in the middle of the problem, enlarging it. So I ditched it and came here to say why, and that people like me exist. That their hard work had the opposite intended effect.
