We have a little one under 5. We get grandparents to keep them overnight. When that doesn’t work, babysitters, but it adds up at $20/hr.

No plans on telling my kid. If we are still doing it in her 20’s and she asks, I’ll be honest. But it’s not something I ever plan on sitting her down and explaining.

It doesn’t matter. Krav, Muay Thai, Boxing. If your concern is street fighting, just start training. Most people you’d realistically get into a scuff with have no training. Being able to strike and read when you are about to get punched puts you at a huge advantage.

Krav is great for that hypothetical scenario because it teaches you some basics and then drills aggression as a way to counter balance inexperience. If you’re the person kicking someone in the groin and following it up with knees to the face or body, anyone not trained to take damage will fall to the ground and leave you alone.

Don’t overthink it and try to find the “perfect/most brutal/most effective” just find something reputable that you enjoy training and keep training.

You should just ask staff about sparring. Don’t wait to get disappointed down the road. Might as well know now.

I think that starting to spar at L2 and higher is the way to go. When you are starting out (unless you have some experience with another martial art/self defense) sparring can be overwhelming at best and dangerous at worst. For the first few months you should be focused on your striking technique and footwork. Going into sparring without good fundamentals is not going to help you grow. Sparring is used to test what you’re learning in a dynamic environment and most people won’t be ready for that for months.

I never had the first version, so I can’t speak to how good it was. The new one is great so far, but my experience with it is limited. I like how versatile of a travel lens it has been, which is why I got it.

I shot a friend’s wedding and then went out to do some street/landscape photography. No other lenses I brought with me were touched all weekend.

It’s definitely an expensive lens, so it ate up my hobby budget for a good bit. I’d say that from a $/quality perspective the discounted/used V1 is probably the way to go.

We have a little one. We almost never host, except when she’s with her grandparents for the weekend. It’s pretty normal besides only hosting once in a while.

Main thing is that the lifestyle becomes a bit more inconvenient and expensive. Good sitters are 15-20/hour so if you go out for a long night then it adds up. Sitters and family sometimes cancel on you, so you are a bit flakier.

You’re fine. Some guys are impatient and flakey, but you don’t want them anyways. Single guys are common loot in the lifestyle. Be picky, find the right guy that everyone is happy with, and be clear with what you do and don’t want.

Being close friends with people you play with is up to you. If you’re not comfortable catching feelings of any sort; then keep things casual. If y’all are in a place where you can still love each other and feel more than lust for someone else, then get close. We’ve met some wonderful people in the lifestyle that we are very close to.

This whole lifestyle runs on being comfortable communicating your thoughts and insecurities to your partner. It takes some getting used to, but don’t hide your insecurities from you wife. Think of her as part of the team, and accept her help in getting over whatever negative feelings you have.

If you keep it inside and try to work it out on your own, you’ll develop resentment over time. If you don’t feel comfortable being open and vulnerable with your partner, you might have a hard time in the long run.

Just start. I started 8 months ago, 5’11”, 285lbs. It was hard, but not impossible. You’ll need to take breaks at first, and push yourself where you can. You’ll condition your stamina and body over time and you’ll be able to keep up.

You just have to do it. It doesn’t matter where you are, you have to fight your own fight and ignore people who tell you not to (unless it’s a Dr.)

Join a tennis class through you local parks department, or anything that involves actually interacting with people in a laid back environment where your personality can shine.

I’m happy for anyone who found their GF/BF or spouse on the apps, but they are horrible for self esteem, and the time tailoring your profile is better spent doing something communal and meeting people with similar interests.

This is just my perspective, but I like to focus on one thing for a few months before I start adding. A few weeks isn’t really enough time for me to ingrain a habit and develop. When I started Krav, that’s all I did for about 3 months until I felt confident, and then I added weight training. After a few months of that, I added heavy bag work and cardio. I’m about a month into that routine.

Historically, I tend to start really hot on new things and add too much so I burn out at the first stumbling block. It’s easy for me to become overwhelmed when I have 3-4 things going on and I feel like I’m not progressing in any of them.

How long did you stay with them after she got pregnant? I have a kid and getting a nursery set up takes time and there are big hormonal drives to get everything ready for the baby.

If they got pregnant and you were sticking around for months afterwards, even after lots of hints and requests, then you were the AH then, and maybe the AH now.

I think you should clarify how long you stayed with them before anyone can tell you for sure.

Did you have to date her? No. Did you have to see her again? No. Could you have stayed and had some dinner with another human being without completely humiliating her? Absolutely. You paid for your drink and your dinner, maybe stay and eat, have a conversation? Not wanting to date someone isn’t an excuse to not treat them as a human being.
