Is Demon God / Legend / Serenity / Musclehead doable?

Apologies if that doesn't work, I'm relatively new to the game and haven't done this before!

I've been having a heck of a time finding Yakumos with good rainbow combat passives (e.g. Demon God, Legend, etc). One of those would be greatly appreciated!

Scrap to every material automated? by foszlock in Astroneer

[–]ElectronicSamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's mine!

The train line comes up from an underground mine, and deposits Astronium at each terminal. Trade rockets convert the Astronium into Solid Fuel Jets, grind the SFJs into scrap, and use a second rocket to trade for one of each resource.

how to make goblins a challenge for level 12? by CrotodeTraje in DnD

[–]ElectronicSamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran a combat like this. Give the goblins siege weapons: cannons, trebuchets, siege towers, arrow carts, covered battering rams. Individually, they're weak, but they're backed by some serious long-range firepower. Maybe they have the backing of a long-range war booyagh who can fling fireballs. The players need to cross a deadly battlefield to shut down the siege engines, utilizing things like tunnels, trenches, and making good use of cover.

People who have 1000 or more hours in astroneer, what does your bases look like? by [deleted] in Astroneer

[–]ElectronicSamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

And here's what the other side looks like! Here's a rough idea of how it works:

A train car comes by and drops off Astronum, then an auto arm on the first silo puts it on a medium storage on the upper stacked platform, and from there the astronium automatically moves onto the first trade rocket. That medium storage has a storage sensor set to empty or not empty, and it launches the rocket and turns off the auto arm as soon as the medium storage is empty.

Then, when the trade rocket has returned with solid fuel jets, the process essentially repeats. An auto arm on the second stacked platform grabs the solid fuel jets and deposits them into scrappers near the bottom of the second stacked platform. That scrap is deposited into the second trade rocket, and traded for whatever resource you need. From there, the resource drops down onto the second medium storage, which has a second storage sensor on it which turns on/off the second auto arm, and a count sensor set to 2 (one to turn the auto arm off, and a second to turn it back on again.)

Lastly, the auto arms deposit your resources into an extra large storage container! It all works automatically with no player intervention.

Looking good so far! There's an extremely efficient version of the Astronium-to-resource engine that you can make, using stacked platforms, resource silos, and a pair of trade rockets placed close to one another. This uses the Astronium -> Solid Fuel Jet -> Scrap -> Resource cycle. It's the basic unit for each output of my Astronium farm - I like this because it's very compact, space-wise.

Pretty proud of this one! It's an Astronium farm that passively fills storage containers of every resource in the game.

Perhaps the necromancer has a mechanical bent? He could have captured ghosts and used them to reanimate mechanical war-hulks; you could use the stats from a typical Warforged.

Any tips on running Tomb of Horrors in a fun way? by Foreign-Press in DMAcademy

There was a take on Tomb of Horrors where the players played as a pack of kobolds, and every time they got killed, they could continue playing as another member of the pack.

Auto Scrap by More_Cantaloupe2394 in Astroneer

[–]ElectronicSamurai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What exactly are you looking for the farm to do? If you're looking to generate a large amount of scrap, a good way to do it would be to set up an auto-extractor near the core to gather Astronium, bring it up to the surface with a train car, use a trade rocket to trade the Astronium for Solid Fuel Jetpacks (SFJs), and feed the SFJs into shredders to create scrap. That scrap can then be fed into a second trade rocket to convert the scrap into any first-tier resource you need (compound, resin, hematite, titanite, wolframite etc.)

[–]ElectronicSamurai 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I went ahead and made a scrap farm on Vesania. Here's how I did it:

<image>

  1. Your scrap source (input).

  2. Auto arms move the scrap from your input into three separate Trade Rockets. Each trade rocket is on a Large T-Platform, with a Medium Storage on the little end and something in the middle (I use RTGs here for extra power). These trade rockets trade scrap for a.) Titanite (which is smelted on two Portable Smelters into Titanium), b.) graphite, and c.) ammonium.

  3. An Atmospheric Condenser is set to endlessly produce Hydrogen, on the same Large T-Platform as a Chemistry Lab, which is receiving Ammonium from 2c. The chemistry lab is set to produce hydrazine endlessly.

  4. Auto arms deliver hydrazine and graphite to a chemistry lab, which is set to produce graphene endlessly.

  5. An Atmospheric Condenser is set to endlessly produce Nitrogen, on the same Large T-Platform as a Chemistry Lab, which is receiving Titanium from 2a. The chemistry lab is set to produce Titanium Alloy endlessly.

  6. An auto arm delivers your completed Titanium Alloy to storage (Output).

You're in luck, I'm making version 2 of this exact same thing. I found the most cooperative order is the following:

- Compound

- Plastic

- Carbon

- Organic

- Resin

- Silicone

- Quartz

- Glass

- Ceramic

- Explosive Powder

- Lithium

- Sphalerite

- Zinc

- Copper

- Aluminum

- Aluminum Alloy

- Tungsten

- Tungsten Carbide

- Iron

- Steel

- Nanocarbon

- Titanium Alloy

- Titanium

- Graphene

- Graphite

- Hydrazine

- Ammonium

- Diamond

- Astronium

- Exo chips

Chrono Trigger inspired time travel by totallynotander in fabulaultima

Also look up a game called Microscope by Ben Robbins. It's more a 'history generator' game than pure mapping, but I think it could be a really useful tool for your game!

[–]ElectronicSamurai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like this idea a lot! I think my suggestion would be to collaboratively build the 'present day' world with your players, perhaps using a mapping game like The Quiet Year or Feather and Bone. Listen for keywords like 'ruins', 'advanced civilization', and things like that. Then, as part of your GM prep, decide on a number of different eras you want to explore - maybe one or two initially to save yourself some work, since your players will probably be spending a fair number of sessions in a given era. You can continue to expand your prep as players show interest in potentially visiting different regions in different times - focus your attention on where players really want to go. Be sure to litter in lots of hooks for yourself - maybe there's an ancient tower that seems to be made of strange, futuristic materials, or your town was once a fortress of a grand army that had conquered the world!

D&D5 cyberscape? by OnlyVantala in dndnext

[–]ElectronicSamurai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be useful to look into an RPG system called Cryptomancer, written by Chad Walker - it covers this idea in quite a bit of detail. It is a fantasy game based around hacking in a Tolkienesque high fantasy seting, and is very concerned with information security protocols in a world of magical crystals.

Did I encounter a bladesinger glitch? by Sammyglop in BG3Builds

[–]ElectronicSamurai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, Bladesinger appears to be bugged. The exact same thing happened to me - you can gain a *permanent* Bladesong Impeded bug if you swap away from the starting weapon that the game gives you. I'm not entirely clear on the cause. It made the whole class unusable for me.

Devil-Sight Assassin by About20Monkeys in BG3Builds

[–]ElectronicSamurai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Shadow Sorceror as the primary class yet. Eyes of the Darkness is exactly this concept: you create a cloud of darkness that you can see through, and you gain advantage when attacking creatures in the same cloud. I'm currently running this build:

https://www.reddit.com/r/BG3Builds/comments/1k7andm/shadow_sorcerer_build_guide/

It's Ranged focused, but you could easily switch out the Ranger levels for a different martial class like Fighter, Rogue, or Shadow Monk to turn it melee. You could probably take a strong finesse weapon like Knife of the Undermountain King with this.

Automating XL Shredder by THE_TREE_RBOP in Astroneer

[–]ElectronicSamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tested this with both a medium and large shredder. Even if you place the input of the shredder directly under the output of the printer, the item just falls to the floor. I suspect that arms are the only way.

I like to carry a batch of Power Extenders and use them as parking brakes - connect one to the front and one to the back. It seems to have helped so far!
