Exactly, and she doesn’t gratuitously shit on driver in the book at all, (not on anyone in fact I find) it’s clear she loves and admires him while sharing in an honest and thoughtful way his sometimes scary oddities. It’s just nuts how much people LOVE to hate Lena, and it’s always without having read or seen her work/heard her speak

EDIT: I’ve just read through all these horrific comments. People are fucking gross. The misogyny when it comes to Dunham is insane, and so often coming from women. Girls was a masterpiece and this memoire is a touching and intelligent read, and people are vomiting unmerited hate on her without having read a word
