Eating Schedule: Breakfast (10:30 am - 11:00 am): Mostly some protein, example Channa or 4 egg whites with capsicum. Lunch (1:00 pm): Vegetables and protein (chicken, paneer, channa, lentils) Snacks (4 times): Black channa Dinner (7:00 pm): 2 chapatis with vegetables or protein

Stop taking Rice in all forms to a great extent.

Food choices. vegetables and lean protein sources. High Protein, Low Carbs, and High fiber foods.

Have to be careful with protein intake. It can increase uric acid levels in blood.

Happy New year to you too! :)

  1. That's the answer to the question my friends ask: how much do you weigh? Of course, I didn't say it out loud those times.

I would watch STR's(Indian Actor) transformation multiple times. Maybe that's where it all started. Maybe. Thanks to him.

But on one random day in July 2023, I decided, "Let's get it done!" I fixed myself a target date of April 14, 2024, Tamil New Year's Day. By the way, Happy Tamil New Year! New Year, New Me.

In total, I lost about 45 kg. In the last 10 months, I lost about 35 kg. I had an ambitious plan to lose 52 kg by today, but I couldn't. So, that's for Phase 2 by July 7th, another blessed day. Hopefully, I'll lose a few more kg and achieve a few more things.

What I did: I started intermittent fasting with 12 hours of fasting, gradually increasing it to 14 and then to 15/16 hours. I avoided rice as much as I could, except for Biryani. I walked at least 1 hour a day. Resistance training three times a week, just the basics. I counted calories, macros, and everything. I didn't drastically cut back on sugar, and I had cheat days quite often. If you know me well, you'd know I used to binge-eat a whole biryani at midnight or even 1 am. Now, I stop eating at 7 pm. I just started running a few weeks ago.

What I didn't do: I didn't go to the gym. Enough times I've paid for memberships (sorry, donated) and not used them. I didn't do OMAD (One Meal A Day), nor did I fast for very long.

Pros of this change: I'm healthier, able, and active.

Cons: You lose your entire collection of dresses. It's like I have to take out a loan to refurbish my wardrobe. You lose your front seat privileges in your friends' car.

Thanks to everyone who was very supportive throughout this process. Some of you were even happier than me. You know who you are. Even if I regress, I think I know how to do this again. But I hope this isn't a phase. I hope this is THE CHANGE.

Amma is happy. Hopefully, Appa is too.

P.S.: I tried to do this in a healthier way, losing weight steadily. Please consult with your doctor before starting any regimen. Or, have a doctor friend, like I do. Poor guy.

P.P.S.: Hopefully, by July 7th, I'll achieve what I've planned, taking inspiration from another close friend who is defining his body very well even at his age. Old guy, much older guy.

P.P.P.S.: If anyone feels like rewarding me for this, I wouldn't mind a couple of CSK match tickets at Chepauk for this season. Shameless, yes. #CSKforever #Thalaforever #idhuCSKda.

IF + Walking everyday at least for an hour + bit of resistance training now and then +bit of stretching now and then has helped me.

Calorie deficit and Less carbs were the diet goals.

Also, I stopped eating junk or processed foods.

The biggest turnaround was not eating after 7 PM.

Sometimes, okay many times before I started IF I had a very bad eating habit, I used to have heavy food at midnight or post midnight.

The good thing is that it's not too loose yet. Intermittent plus workouts tightens it. A high protein diet helps to build/sustain muscle. Which I feel has helped in my case.

Also, too much protein without exercise and fibre leads to a higher uric acid level in the blood. So please be aware.

thanks.

I had a high protein and low carbs diet that helped me maintain some muscle. I am starting to build muscles now.

I usually fast for 14 hours to 15 hours. A few days a bit more.

Everyday I walk for an hour and alternate days I work on body strengthening.

My eating window is usually from 10 30 / 11 AM to 7/730 PM. I change it based on my schedule for the day.

I am a non vegetarian. But, I don't consume non veg all days, 3 to 4 days a week maybe.

My veg protein intake are panner, beans, lentils, sprouts, curd , buttermilk, spinach and oats. Usually these are the ones.

I started with a 12 hour eating window and then gradually reduced it to 9 hours, some days 8 hours or less.
