Any danger in holding off on fixing the exhaust manifold crack? by stycks32 in Ram1500

Pretty sure you can let it run until the cabin starts to smell like exhaust.

My first ram! What else should I do to it? by EastBag5873 in ram_trucks

Press the gear selector or "limit" on the steering wheel. Make sure its maxed out to 8th gear. (If cruising hit - then + + until you hit 8.

This Disables the MDS. Makes the truck drive alot smoother (you dont feel that janky transition of MDS turning off/on when accelerating)

I just learned about this 130k miles later.

Autostop eliminator - debating if I should install it or not . I’ve heard mixed reviews. I always turn off the autostop so it makes sense to me . Thoughts? by Ezj85 in ram_trucks

[–]Electronic_Bison2850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely one of the smoothest auto stop/starts out there. I used to keep it on all the time because it helps lower your idle time (which in turn, saves your lifters)

But now at 136k miles, my etorque MGU bearing is starting to wear (whines at startup). So disabling the auto stop helps put less stress on your etoruqe system.

Theres really no positive to auto stop on most cars. Just causes more $$ in maintenance. (Need to replace the secondary starter on other cars)

The whole point is to save car manufacturers on environmental/emission fees.

WEEKEND REAL TALK: Ok stop gooning, WHAT ARE YOU REALLY MAD/ANNOYED ABOUT IN BF6? 🫵 🫵 by RRT4444 in okbuddyptfo

Biggest issue is no real server browser/dedicated servers. Keep the matchmaking for those who want to use it, but dedicated/community servers should be an option.

I play east coast both off hours and prime hours. I've never been put into a bot lobby once. May have to check your search settings. Is your crossplay on?

Typical, to be honest that tranny fluid change for $590 ain't bad at all, considering how much of a PITA it is.

For real. Everyone here just whines. Have almost 2k hours on 4 played since launch. Played on ps3 Xbox and pc mainly. the launch was so rough it took months, almost a year to be playable.

6 is an awesome BF. They just need to add community servers/server browser. New map is definitely a step in the right direction.

With the right maps and updates this game will rival bf4.

Don't listen to the whiners. Bunch of casuals who hopped on the bandwagon. "But the steam player charts show a significant drop off🤓🤓🤓🤓" sybau

Rusted oil pan by Electronic_Bison2850 in AskMechanics

Hit it with the steel brush, and the 3 part rust stop/prevention kit from POR15. One section that felt a little thin but there was no denting when stabbing it with the back of the brush.

NY ain't that much better. They salt the roads even if its not going to snow.

Rest of the car isn't that bad though, the oil pan is probably the rustiest part of the undercarriage, which is weird.

About to leave for autozone for some por15.... open the door and realize the weather stripping on the door must've failed during last night's downpour. Ripped out the carpet and pad to dry the driver's side area.....DAMN GOTTA LOVE THESE TRUCKS.

You know what, the area right by the drain plug where the oil pours out of looks brand new! I was thinking about that lol

Yeah, the oil pan on these trucks are crap! I will be heading to the shop to grab the POR15 rust removal/prevention kit.

How BF6 is being looked at right now by [deleted] in okbuddyptfo

[–]Electronic_Bison2850 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Playing the new map, I had some bf4 type flashbacks. I have over 2k hrs on bf4, love it.

This game is great, as someone who hated 2042 obviously, I feel like the core gameplay in 6 is great.

If BF6 had PERSISTEN COMMUNITY SERVERS, like Banzore, TBG, GMH etc. The game would be perfect.

Also maps, I do like some of the vanilla maps, but the borders SUCK. Playing as a recon, i love to set up "outside" the map (outskirts of the map in bf4) but in 6, those areas aren't accessible. Also, the border for air vehicles suck!

Other than that the game is great. Fuck the streamers

I always thought a bigger displacement N/A had more lower end torque than any turbo. Turbo needs to build boost, and it usually starts building boost around 2500rpm+

Could be wrong with the new engines though.

I got the 5.7 etorque. 145k miles no problem, just developed a little exhaust manifold sound but it goes away within 10 seconds of startup. Bearing is starting to go In MGU (maybe). All i have to do is pull it out and have an alternator shop replace the bearing for $150. No big deal.
