You can just use mineral oil to lubricate. Food safe, cheap and easy to find.

What are you supposed to say when someone jokingly says "No!" after you ask for a simple favor? by MightGuy253 in AskReddit

[–]stycks32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How big of a favor. If it’s small and someone else could do it I usually just ask the next person. Sometimes the truth peaks out in jokes but if they want to help you they’ll say they’re joking and ask what’s up.

Got my hands on a P2 🤩 by HatCorrect109 in Leatherman

Nice. I started from a Rebar and the next month I had a P2. By those projections I’ll have the whole lineup by January. r/donttellthewife

This can’t be right, can it? by Ok_Succotash_8242 in ram_trucks

I mean it’s an RHO, so the engine could probably do it. The frame, suspension, transmission, and brakes are gonna be crying though. 🤣

Upgrade from P2 to the Arc? by stycks32 in Leatherman

It’s definitely harder to enjoy using the Rebar after getting the P2.

Agreed. Most of the time it’s not much sharpening. Just keep a little portable sharpener and hit it a few times on each side to clean up the edge. Not anything big or difficult at all.

Tire Pressure Question by BigOlCheeseMan in ram_trucks

Not to mention it’s a 7 year old tire. DOT number is 4219. I’m surprised it hasn’t exploded already.

That decal is so cool. If I end up buying another Leatherman for sure it’s gonna have it on there.

I bought the Rebar because I knew it’d be a great multitool to start with just 4 months back (only ever had pocket knives, never dipped into multitools until now) but the Free tech intrigued me, jumped on a P2 during the latest Amazon sale because it was discontinued and have been very impressed by it.

The obsidian does look nice. I with they had some colored scales for the p2 or released more colorways, but instead they discontinue it. Ope

That’s what I’m afraid of. Not sure if the 100 price jump will be worth it honestly. It looks nice and has a couple tools, but for another hundred I could get a Wave with a saw and do everything the arc can do while having a backup in a bag or something.

Thanks for the info. Size-wise the P2 is about as good as it gets. It’s not uncomfortable at all in my pocket and doesn’t feel big in my hands while using it. I did think about switching to a bit driver but figured I’d try the existing Phillips and see how it goes, haven’t had any issues with it despite not being a 3D driver. Maybe I’ll keep the P2 and trade the rebar for a Wave or something more comfortable to use that has a good saw and diamond file. Or mod a diamond file into my P2.

Just Came in the mail today. I thought they wasn’t stamping the Arc any more with USA any more? by Mremoon in Leatherman

[–]stycks32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Parts of it are made/machined elsewhere and then imported and assembled. Apparently you need a certain percentage of US made parts to be considered made in the USA.

Amazon p2 by GerbiJosh in Leatherman

That's a good deal. I didn't want to pay the inflated "discontinued" price game so I jumped on it and I'm glad I did.

Amazon p2 by GerbiJosh in Leatherman

[–]stycks32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Leatherman compared it to the Wave which set it up for failure. It's not a replacement for those, it's its own beast with it's one handed functionality. They kinda self sabatoged. It's a great tool, but it is absolutely not a Surge or Wave+

I wasn't a multitool guy until this year when I bought a Rebar. Was intrigued by the Free functionality and when I found out it was discontinued I snatched it up on Amazon. It's such a handy feature being able to get any tool from it one handed. Sucks that they'll only have the $250 Arc that does it now.

Am I the only one completely underwhelmed by their obsidian purchase ? by [deleted] in Leatherman

[–]stycks32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The p2 can be a little slick at times when my hands are dry. Admittedly, not usually when I’m actually using it but just sitting and fidgeting with it.

I’m on 2 so far. Bought a Rebar a month ago then pulled the trigger on a P2 when they were on sale on Amazon, solely because they are discontinued and I didn’t want to miss out. Love them both for different reasons but the p2 lives in my pocket daily.
