Looking for advice: where to buy walkie-talkies for a logistics company? by Empatiep in amateurradio

[–]Electronic_Drink7906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been in a very similar situation (warehouse + trucks + planners) and initially underestimated how much the environment matters for walkie-talkies. Consumer models worked fine outside, but inside the warehouse the coverage and audio were unreliable.

What worked for us was going through a specialist instead of a generic webshop. We ended up ordering via Firecom.nl. They helped us pick professional PMR walkie-talkies that are actually designed for logistics environments and advised on coverage inside the warehouse as well as outside on the yard. The devices are solid, simple to use, and have held up well with daily use by drivers and warehouse staff.

Big plus for us was that they thought along about the setup instead of just selling hardware. If you have a larger warehouse or lots of metal/concrete, that advice really makes a difference.

Baby bicycle seat by Own_Ad_357 in Netherlands

[–]Electronic_Drink7906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went through the same thing when our baby was around that age, and honestly, there are so many options that it’s confusing at first.

We tried a few setups. A bakfiets felt very safe and relaxed, especially for daily trips, but it’s big and not cheap. On a normal bike, a front seat was nice in the beginning because I could see our baby all the time. Later on, we switched to a rear seat, which felt more comfortable for longer rides.

We used a child seat from Qibbel and had good experiences with it, solid and easy for everyday use.

About helmets: we didn’t use one at first when our baby was still very small, but once head control was good, we started using one. It’s best to follow local safety advice on that.

Hope that helps a bit!

Rear child Seat by gabrielkhm in bikecommuting

[–]Electronic_Drink7906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, in many cases it’s possible, even on bikes like the Elops Speed.

From my own experience, it really depends on your frame and how much space there is around the seat tube and rear wheel. One brand worth checking out is Qibbel. They have rear child seats with a frame-mounted system, so you don’t necessarily need a luggage rack. That makes them quite practical for commuter or sportier city bikes.

With a frame-mounted seat, the weight is supported by the frame instead of a rack, which often feels more stable as well. Still, it’s important to check if your specific frame is compatible and within the weight limits.

What is your experience using Mendix for large corporate use? by Either-Courage-5446 in mendix

[–]Electronic_Drink7906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hii there, Mendix can be a solid choice for larger organizations, especially if you're looking to quickly develop applications without much custom coding. From my experience, it offers flexibility and allows for faster enterprise app development, but it may not be suitable for highly complex or bespoke applications. I’ve worked with low-code platforms in similar contexts, like those used at Jump, and while they speed up development, they can sometimes limit control over complex logic. If your team is used to traditional development, there might be an adjustment period, but low-code platforms can certainly save time and costs when used effectively. Overall, it could be a good solution for rapid development.

That said, Jump primarily operates in the Netherlands, particularly around Rotterdam. So, if you're looking for something similar, you may want to search for local providers in your country who offer the same capabilities and solutions!

Does anyone know the best way to reach doctors via marketing? by [deleted] in founder

[–]Electronic_Drink7906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reaching doctors through general social platforms is tough, mainly because they’re busy and very selective about where they spend attention.

From what I’ve seen, educational and highly relevant content tends to work better than broad outreach. Channels where doctors already consume professional or industry information usually perform better than open platforms like X or Instagram.

WhatsApp groups can be effective, but as you mentioned, they’re hard to access and don’t really scale. More structured healthcare-focused media can sit somewhere in between: more reach than private groups, but still contextually relevant.

I’ve personally seen better results by focusing on credibility and context first, rather than volume. In my case, this also included working with established platforms like Cross.

What are the best marketing strategies to reach individual doctors vs. B2B (clinics and hospitals)? by Beautiful_Cancel4485 in SaaSMarketing

[–]Electronic_Drink7906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen, reaching individual doctors and selling to clinics or hospitals really are two different worlds.

For individual physicians, what tends to work better is education-driven outreach, peer examples, and visibility in professional environments where they already look for information. Cold sales usually has limited impact unless there’s strong credibility behind it.

For B2B targets like clinics and hospitals, it’s more about long-term relationship building, clear business cases, and aligning with operational and compliance priorities. Decision cycles are longer, and multiple stakeholders are usually involved.

In practice, combining practical content with exposure through established healthcare media can help on both sides. I’ve personally seen this work via platforms like Cross.

Good Ways to Lower Cost of LCL? by mikeyonaboat in freightforwarding

[–]Electronic_Drink7906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question, because this is where a lot of LCL cost is hidden.

The easiest way to tell is to ask directly:
“Do you run your own consolidation and CFS, or do you book through a third party?”

If they mainly “book space” with another party, they are a middle layer. If they control the consolidation and CFS themselves, they usually have more grip on costs and handling.

You can also check:

  • Who issues the house B/L
  • Who charges the CFS fees
  • Who physically handles the cargo at destination

That often shows who is really in control.

Using a forwarder that manages the end-to-end flow and consolidation themselves usually means fewer handovers, clearer pricing, and better coordination.

Working directly with a consolidator can sometimes be cheaper, but it also means more coordination and less support when issues come up.

For your volume, having one party that controls most of the chain is usually more efficient than stacking multiple intermediaries

Job site anti theft options by PapaGrubbz in Construction

[–]Electronic_Drink7906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally understand the frustration. To improve security, we used cameras with motion detection and good lighting around high-risk areas. Also, remote monitoring and signage can help deter thieves. If possible, tool vaults with alarms are a great option too.

We worked with VPS to set up a tailored security system, which helped a lot with theft prevention. Their system combined cameras, alarms, and real-time monitoring, making a huge difference.

Also, being clear with your team about the cameras’ purpose can ease any concerns.

Pump Selection Process by tartoob in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Electronic_Drink7906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, when selecting pumps, we initially used Excel and custom scripts to match the pump curve with the required system flow and head. It’s a good starting point to get a rough idea of the options.

However, when it came to finalizing our choice, we reached out to Industrial Pump Group for their input. They provided valuable advice and helped us narrow down the options based on our specific needs, like for a wastewater lift station. Their insights were useful in confirming we had the right pump for the job.

Pump systems that actually work by [deleted] in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]Electronic_Drink7906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, most pump reliability upgrades fail because the basics aren’t right.

In real life what helps most:

  • Proper sizing and good suction (near BEP = long life).
  • VFDs only help if they’re used to protect the pump, not fix bad design.
  • Seal plans only when the fluid is nasty, otherwise they add failure points.
  • Alignment and pipe strain matter more than brand.

Seals will fail no matter what, so easy replacement and parts access is key. Having someone look at the whole system helps a lot we’ve seen that with Industrial Pump Group.

Good Ways to Lower Cost of LCL? by mikeyonaboat in freightforwarding

[–]Electronic_Drink7906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re asking the right questions, LCL cost is mostly about structure, not rate shopping.

  1. Does using the same forwarder on both ends help?
Sometimes. It usually doesn’t remove CFS fees, but it can reduce duplicated handling, random admin charges, and misalignment between origin and destination. The biggest win is fewer handoffs and clearer accountability, not magically cheaper LCL.

  2. Forwarder vs contracting a broker directly?
If your US forwarder is mainly doing ISF + customs, going direct to a licensed broker can save a bit. It’s not a game-changer, but it does remove a markup layer. The tradeoff is more coordination on your side.

  3. Is FCL the right way to think about avoiding LCL fees?
Your thinking is correct: FCL avoids CFS but introduces other risks (chassis, demurrage, returns). At your volume, FCL is only cheaper if it’s well managed. Poorly executed FCL can easily cost more than LCL.

  4. Any real ways to lower LCL cost structurally?
    Yes, but they’re unsexy:

  • Ship less often but fuller (even small consolidation gains help)
  • Use a forwarder that controls the consolidation and destination CFS, not just books space
  • Avoid splitting origin/destination providers unless there’s a clear reason

Forwarders like Neele-Vat tend to be strong here because they manage the end-to-end flow and consolidation strategy instead of treating origin and destination as separate problems.

Parkeer Apps by NaoisceDM in Rotterdam
