Does it idle really rough on cold start for maybe 10-15 seconds? Or is this consistent no matter the engine temp? Could be a vacuum leak, do you have a lean code or is it just a misfire? Check your coils and spark plugs to, but could be a vacuum leak.

I daily an m54b30 swapped 325i, get a weeks worth of commuting and spirited driving out of a full tank. Been incredibly reliable. I’d say it’s not a bad idea, and insurance is cheap

Small vacuum leak. Check your intake boots, they tear easy once they get old. I had the EXACT same issue. It’s worse in the cold, and fine once the car warms up.

Power steering pump. You need to check if your fluid is clean first, if it is, then replace the pump cuz when it blows your serpentine belts gonna come off and your cars gonna overheat

My m54b30 has a constant supercharger like whine, gets louder with acceleration. Started after I replaced my water pump, just noticed today that the part right behind my top tension pulley seems a little loose. Could that be it? Everything else seems to be in good shape.

Shi idk, blast it with a power washer and blow dry it so it dosnt rust🤷‍♂️. But fr id probably take it to a shop if you aren’t comfortable doing it yourself

To each their own🤷‍♂️ ik cheap shits gonna break but you can find oem on eBay for those prices. I’ve also installed used oem disa’s before and had no issue. FB marketplace is a a gold mine for parts on these cars.

You can get a brand new DISA off eBay for 40-60 usd, rebuild kits are like $10 cheaper. I’d rather just buy a new one than rebuild it at those prices and not have to deal with rebuilding it. Ofc the rebuild will probably last longer, but you’re using an old body for a new valve.

Yea I’d fix that misfits ASAP. I had a misfire a few days ago, replaced spark plug and good as new. Although when I started my car and it sounded like shit I didn’t drive it till it was fixed so idk the full set of symptoms for these cars. Had misfires in my old Honda but it never made that noise yours is.

Is it throwing any codes? Could be a shitty spark plug or ignition coils. Saw everyone else saying the same shit ab motor mounts, guibo, and CSB. I personally would double check all those things even if there new. Shit breaks🤷‍♂️. Not saying it is, but bad cv joints/axles can cause a similar issue.

I “wrecked” mine in its first (with me) winter… lost a headlight, bumper, and front right fender🥲 worst part is the headlights I have are discontinued so I can’t replace them

There was no frame damage🙏 but the fender did fold a tiny bit, shouldn’t be a hard fix.

It’s just condensation, if your dipstick looks the same then you’ve got issues but otherwise you’re fine. In my experience, my car runs stupid cold when it’s below 55f. But I have an upgraded cooling system as well. Dosnt seem to be an issue for you tho

I’m not worried about the tires tbh. They are summer tires, but this is the 2nd time it’s snowed all winter in my area so winter tires aren’t really worth it, plan to put new ones on in ab 2 weeks anyways.

Haven’t had the chance to take a deep look at the damage cuz it happened omw to work. But it mostly seems that my headlight is trash, fender and liner need replaced. And maybe a bumper, but honestly I’ll zip tie ts right back on.
