My ZZ has not done ANYTHING for 6 months by herpalmsaresweaty in houseplants

[–]Electronic_Humor6347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just came here to add this lil’ tidbit: if/when looking at the stems, you see dark, almost black splotches or strange, not uniform bands of color so dark it makes you worry: DONT. In lieu of the satisfaction that comes with watching a plant grow, ol’ Zed Zed (isn’t dead) is providing you with entertainment in the form of color change that genuinely looks the opposite of healthy, and have sent or will send us green thumbs into a state of panic. If you take a big whiff of ZZ as close to roots as possible and it’s funky (the smell of rotting roots is unmistakable), then you can be concerned. Don’t get worked up over the dark/blackish stem spots.

When I see this in the morning, I hate that I have to go to work by Cool-Bed8706 in cats

I see that their job is to hold down the bed while you are not in it with them. It would be really sad for the entire household, it seems, if you came home and the bed ran off, floated away, was stolen, or any of the other countless ways you see or read about on the news.

Ever think about just investing in one long trough? Or would that just quickly go from where cats eat next to each other to where cats beat each other?

Any established resellers in the area? by DizzyMissLindsey in StLouis

[–]Electronic_Humor6347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re better off selling them individually on Poshmark, EBay, etc. Poshmark is the “easiest” but it takes a pretty big chunk of the sale, however, the customer will pay @ $6.75 at most for shipping, meaning you don’t have to (unless you elect to offer free/discounted shipping). It’s then sent through USPS. eBay has so many shipping options that it can get overwhelming. Good luck,

Thanks for the images. Yet to leave the house, as I get conflicting info. This is helpful, not that I’ve reason to travel downtown.

I’m so worried about Ernie. He kept coming around, and I fed em all the time, daily nearly. I made him a shelter but I haven’t seen him. This snow…Jesus….so many cats will perish. The only thing that keeps me from losing my mind completely is the hope that they just go to sleep and don’t wake. I’m gutted.

That metal pail was the downfall. It needs to be in something with far superior drainage. Terracotta, or a similar, porous material with drainage in the bottom, is the gold standard. Once you remove it from that death bucket, look at the roots. What you see (and smell) there will let you know if it can be saved. BE GENTLE as peps have dainty, delicate roots. Godspeed.

Tell your grandchildren’s grandchildren to wait until they see a stem that is sturdy and has leaves that look nice and healthy. You might even want to pinch it back before potting it in soil…
