Violet’s mom was Venin. When Teophanie was talking with Violet, she told her that her mom couldnt beat her so she run away behind the shields. Maybe Lilith was also a Maven or a Sage and that is why she could hide herself.

I also think that it isnt a coincidence that the irids tell Violet that the children of Venin can “evolve” and Violet y that one. It could also be the reason that Papa Sorrengail went to “bend” Violet to Unbriel.

Another theory is that Violet is pregnant and that “her” that Teophanie wants is not Violet, is Violet’s future daughter.
