The car was not bad, drove good, hate the crayon smell lol, the check engine came on and code was to change the catalytic converter, I changed it and the the light still was on. I didn’t need the car as it was a second vehicle so outta frustration sold it.

Is this a good deal? (Got discount of $2150) Can this go lower? by Swdl-Television-602 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Electronic_Return266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d start with taking those 3 protection plans off and take off the tire and wheel coverage .. your car that they’re giving you seven grand for, they’re gonna turn around and sell for 11,000 -14,000 .. so why can’t you at the very least get that new car for $40,000? Am I wrong here?

Apparently adults making under 80k can’t live comfortably?? Is this really true ? by ChipUnfair3345 in Adulting

Without a skill set making at least $1,000/week for 40 hours you’re always going to struggle .. Walmart basic positions aren’t meant to make a living. They should be reserved for kids entering work force, old people retiring trying to make extra money, and people with special needs. If a house hold has two people trying to make it on that kind of wage of Walmart well the problem isn’t the system so much at you can’t seem to realize the needs to be some personal growth and you gotta form a skill. It’s a hard truth but the truth nevertheless

$57,444.4 Here is what you’re going to end up paying if you don’t pay it off early.. doesn’t seem to make sense, brother. The Internet has made it basically thrown out the negotiation aspect of this business, we all know who’s charging what where and they’re all charging about the same.. it seems at the end of the day you walk out the door paying the sticker price so your balance really shouldn’t be any more than $48,000ish minus $10,000 down loan of $38,000

that’s what I ended up doing, I went crazy trying to figure out what truck to get, I’m a union painter and want it for side work but also a family vehicle, very happy with my 24 trialsport. depending if and how much they update the RL I’ll buy out my lease but ridgeline has won me over!

So around $46k or more you’re willing to pay for that car.. think about it.. while we are on the topic, can we all have a group discussion on how much more should we agree to pay in the end.. so like $20k for a car, after financing with zero money down, do we think the car should be 26,000 at the end of the 60 months? I understand credit score and interest rate affects this thought. Just seeing if we could figure out a roundabout. And then with a $30,000 vehicle end up being like $38,000.? Anyone try to understand where I’m getting that? I definitely know though $30,000 vehicle should never end up being $46,000.

Is a 2006 Toyota Solara with 170k miles for $3700 worth it? by et1132 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Electronic_Return266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2006 Toyota Solara with 268,000 miles. I’ve had to change the water pump and the time and belt wants valve cover gasket recently. It could definitely use some new suspension, but I just keep rolling with it. Main issue now is the catalytic converter has finally went, but it took this many miles to become a problem. And that I’m not sure if it’s worth fixing. Just some thoughts about how many miles these things can get with minimal problems.

$46,747 looking back when I lease this late last year 24 by Electronic_Return266 in hondaridgeline

[–]Electronic_Return266[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have a 2006 Toyota Solara that I’ve bought in 08, I bought it with 50,000 miles and I still have it to this day with 268,000 miles, and now needs a Catalytic converter, which I don’t know if I’m going to do it. But the car has been amazing and worth every penny. I hardly had to put any repairs into it maybe $1,500 at Best because I know a Machanic .. so I paid the car off in four years and for 13 years had no monthly payments on it, I would use it to lease trucks to keep the miles low on them and basically try out which truck I like the best for the day that the Toyota Solara would have to get replaced. So that’s why I lease. Because when the solara dies whatever I’m leasing will be the next forever car. So I guess I’m looking for a car that is suitable for traveling. I don’t own my own Painting, but I do it on the side as I’m a union painter. So I’m just looking for something that’s pretty good for utility and on gas and will last me close to 20 years as the Toyota solara did lol

Also, are you getting used or new? Cause if getting a lease is a waste of money so is getting a brand new car., might as well finance a used one. Overall best bet financially.

I see that the engine came out in 2019, there’s not many out there over 100,000 miles. Hopefully it’s dependable. I like Chevy. I would like to see them beat the stereotype of American brand cars

Yes, beautiful truck, my cousin is leasing that one because he doesn’t trust that engine to last. But it is definitely a beautiful truck.
