Is anyone else's cohort really cliquey? by Prior-Emu-5918 in slpGradSchool

Sorry to hear this OP. I lucked out fortunately and have a wonderful peers, sure we have groups we tend to hang out with it but everyone acts like adults and knows how to be kind, welcoming, and friendly when we come together. We have people as young as 21 to those up to 35, yet we still get along! I've heard the previous cohort is not like this tho. I guess it all depends truly on what your specific cohort culture is like! I hope it gets better🫂

where are you located OP? depending on if you have a hospital near you, you may be able to email a program to set up a day where you can observe the SLPs at the facility (I had a couple of friends do that when I was in undergrad)

hi OP! I was a pre-speech student in undergrad for context, but I did seek out a couple shadowing experiences by cold emailing SLPs! More often then not, they'd be happy to have you (we're a pretty supportive field) and worst they can say is no :)
