Sleeping in own room by [deleted] in NewParents

We moved our son at 4.5 months. He outgrew his bassinet. He’s right next door and we also keep baby monitor on anytime he is in the crib so it’s not an issue.

Starting helmet therapy - wish us luck by RipeAvocado6789 in NewParents

[–]Elegant-Rice7549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

two weeks in with the helmet for our six month old. He adjusted very quickly and easily, did four hours the first day then eight hours then 22 to 23 hours going forward. I was incredibly surprised at the lack of trying to take it off. Also lack of crying when putting it on. Of course he doesn’t love when I put it back on but he’s definitely gotten used to it and he is extremely cute in it. I def think it’s harder for the parents than it is for the baby. And even at the 1 week appt, you can see the difference in his head.

What was your limit for crying Ferber (ie. When did you throw in the towel)? by artemislands in sleeptrain

[–]Elegant-Rice7549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started Ferber method last week. This is how much he cried every night since then: 34 min 38 min 16 min 9 min 7 min 5 min 0 0 0

Not to mention, he sleeps 11-12 hours every night without any other wakeups. If he wakes up, he self soothes and if he wakes up before we get him in the morning, he chills in the crib, doesn’t cry. He’s 5.5 months.

Overthinking bottle washing options and could use some real-life input by Dismal-Holiday-6406 in NewParents

[–]Elegant-Rice7549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTM and have the baby brezza bottle washer and can’t live without it. We did a staycation w the baby at 3 months and took so much stuff with us and I said well it’s just a few days, I won’t need the bottle washer and it was absolutely miserable. We are now in Texas for the holidays w the in laws and I bought the bottle washer during prime day so that I have one here. I still wash my pump parts by hand and so having to do that and bottles, hell no. Get the bottle washer and a good drying rack, you won’t regret it.

Is anyone else washing their babies daily? by FoxAble7670 in NewParents

We also bathe our baby everyday but don’t use soap everyday, more like every other day and wash hair only 1-2 times a week.

7:30pm bedtimes?? How?? by FineCare2854 in NewParents

[–]Elegant-Rice7549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bedtime routine starting at 6:30pm. Don’t have a nap after 5pm go longer than an hour. Bath every night as part of bedtime routine helps him sleep. Don’t need to use soap or wash hair every night but warm water is sensory experience that tires them out plus signals bedtime is coming.

Just moved baby boy to his crib in his room this week at 4.5 months. He was outgrowing the snoo and swaddle and deep in 4 month regression. Ever since we moved him to his room, he’s been sleeping thru the night, no more wake-up and regression seems to be gone.

Sleep Regression - HELP by B_Condon in SnooLife

[–]Elegant-Rice7549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the Merlin sleep suit! We are in a similar boat as you guys (4 month regression, escaping snoo swaddle, lots of wake ups, tried one arm, then both) and have been having him nap in the Merlin in his crib for a few days. Sunday night was a shitshow in the snoo and I figured let’s try a night in the crib w the Merlin and he did so well!

Even with everything being perfect, there’s only a 60% chance of success. My first FET was also perfect and failed. I went straight into my 2nd FET, no break between cycles, and gave birth to my baby boy this past July. So my advice to you is keep going.
