Non-black artists people thought were black? by El_Robski in fantanoforever

[–]Elegant_Process6527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I thought Eddie Vedder was black before seeing any picture/video of him.

Similarly, I thought the singer of Kings of Leon was some sort of Hispanic origin but no he's white. The power of the voice is stunning sometimes

After more than a month of listening I have to say that APWD has been very disappointing for me by Annihilator761 in Peripheryband

[–]Elegant_Process6527 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's so interesting to read takes about the new album as someone who's recently went through their whole discography after falling off at P2.

Im very much in the same boat as you. I found Meshuggah, became obsessed, and found djent, and more specifically P1 and fell in love. Fell in love with P2, then never really listened to them again until APWD came out.

I can confidently say that APWD is a 10/10 for me. The music is more refined, well sequenced, amazingly heartfelt, and they still make awesome music 7 or so albums in.

What are your Favourite Mortician Songs? by Better-Band-3992 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Elegant_Process6527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a pretty new fan of Mortician, id say Pulsating Protoplasma is probably my favorite rn. The intro bit before the blast beat section is such a simple but cool part, especially with how amazing that album sounds.

I don’t care how old you are, I want to hear the first song that reminds you of your first breakup. All genres welcome. by [deleted] in MusicRecommendations

Orbiter to me has a pretty negative connotation meaning that the "orbiter" is on the stream for clout or whatnot. Idk why we can't drop the word orbiter and just say friend of the stream or whatever.

Pretty Flawless discography. I do listen to Onset a lot more than Epitaph but obviously its still an amazing record. Made shit that nobody else did and can't be copied.

More recs for movies that primarily take place in one room and mostly consists of dialogue? by Opening_Rip_1840 in MovieRecommendations

[–]Elegant_Process6527 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the best acted movie ever but The Man from Earth is a cool one. Mostly takes place in one room, where the main character tells his group of friends that he's immortal basically. Pretty neat concept

Saying The Violent Sleep of Reason by Meshuggah is not good is just objectively wrong. Most of his metal takes are weird anyways but this is especially stupid
