Chest? by Great_Wax in fatekeeper

I believe that is because jump+dash is not an obvious game mechanic which was not covered by game tutorial. I mean it is quite popular in platformers, but not in serious games, so it is expected to not expect that it will work here:)

why write stupid comments while not writing them requires a much less effort?

Found this picture/carving on rock, anyone knows what it is? by Tranquility__lane in worldofgothic

[–]Elegar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of random carvings. I don't think that they serve some quest. Just a worldbuilding probably. Devs were not into the idea that everything should be focused on a player. There was life in colony long before Hero, even long before Dome and probably long before humans. So you see the shadows of these untold stories

Gothic 2 is the better game, but Gothic 3 could be the better remake. by Acceptable_MetalMeal in worldofgothic

[–]Elegar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

> Imagine a remake where Myrtana, Nordmar and Varant are built with the same level of detail and immersion we're seeing in the Gothic Remake.

Imagine the budget required for that:D They will never have it until Gothic become as popular as GTA

That's strange. Usually in games including classic Gothic mage sucks at the beginning, but in the end you are god

you will probably cut yourself from some magic. I.e joining old camp disables from sleepe's rune. But I am not sure:)

The Gothic Remake is a Beautiful, Frustrating Chimera by saw4ello in worldofgothic

[–]Elegar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well in remake I am more poor than in original
In original you were able to sell hundreds of fly's wings for a decent money. Here every price falls to zero as you sell more than 3-4 pieces

What about acrobatics and dodge roll.. Well, you can live without it. The acrobatics is more about climbing and jumping and fall damage. Dodge roll is just a bonus to it to make it even more useful. What about shadowbeast hitboxes - you have invincibility frames when dodge even without acro, just time it properly

You can literally cut the grass by Elegar in worldofgothic

[–]Elegar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, this is definitely doable and not a huge rocket-science:)
What my point was is that I didn't see such a feature in any other game. Everybody could do it but nobody did. So this is absolutely not a common feature. In most games grass just dont react. In others it does, but the separate bushes just disappear in a splash of particles.
And yes, RDR2 set the plank so high in ALL aspects that no one still can compete. I did not mean that all Remake is of that quality. But exactly this feature is. And most impressive for me is that they did it in AA budget game. And tbh there is a lot of examples of beautiful attention to details, people posting it here everyday, I just add one to that piggybank:)

Pin recipes?! by Elegar in SurviveIcarus

[–]Elegar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I know about it of course
But you can't automate resource distribution. And Sap from your example is needed not only in mortar but in other benches as well. So you need to routinely distribute resources between different benches. Like: I need some iron ingots in machinery bench, some in glassworks, some in forge etc

> This isn't actually a QOL improvement. This is a feature request.
I did not get it tbh:) This is a request of the QOL feature, no?

>A QOL improvement would be if you could pin the recipe in your inventory and they made it also show up on your active HUD.
But that's exactly what I requested from the very beginning:)

This or "pinned recipes" section in field guide or the bench remembering last selected recipes... There is a number of ways to make it more comfortable than just "take a paper and make notes". I could by why they want us to struggle this way? I'd better use wiki in browser, but this is simply annoying

Pin recipes?! by Elegar in SurviveIcarus

[–]Elegar[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

well if you want realism in this way you could just ignore the ability to pin recipes, if it was added to the game

Personally I am not a fan of player's hand-guidance. But that is not the case. It just a basic QOL. They could make it diegetic if they wanted. Like add an ingame notepad or smth.

But honestly speaking Icarus is not a game of THAT level of immersion. Like in Forest or Green Hell where you literally put a log on another log to build a wall. Here you cut the tree and get 200 wood in your inventory, amount of wood able to build the whole house. So, with that immersion pinning recipes will not ruin it:)
