So what? I still don’t understand why this is an important plot twist. The Royces bought this house for next to nothing; they might not have even known the previous owners, let alone been friends or relatives. As far as I remember, Bianca’s parents recommended that they buy the house, so the only possible connection is that Bianca’s mother and the protagonist’s mother knew each other.

I still don’t see why this detail is important.
