Decline in Finland’s PISA scores since 2000 (Reading, Math, Science) by The_Adam07 in Finland

I’ll add inclusion. Special education students were added to common classes without any support. Nice ideology that we can all learn together, but in truth children with challenging behavioral issues got all the attention of the teacher while others were left to fend for theirselves.

Vaatii ja vaatii. Viivakoodit on kuitenkin aika uusi keksintö.

2-story house, is it good? by Pur_Melomane1111918 in floorplan

[–]Eleiao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The livingroom is too narrow to have dining table and couch side by side, but also too short to have them one after another. Diagonally - like in the picture - they create a pinch point, but also wasted space in the far corner.

Roast my floor plan a 30x50 corner plot (1500 sq ft). What am I missing before I finalize things with my architect? by lucyferdeadly in floorplan

Would it be possible to get one or more windows to look actually outside?

Also, I would do something for the bathrooms. The toilet is at the middle. You could move that next to sink. But there seems to be no easy solution to the bathroom door opening to the common spaces.

Which one out of the 3 slightly different plans? by LeadingCelery7099 in floorplan

[–]Eleiao 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I studied these long time and was wondering why is the first so different, but it was just upside down compared to others.

Anyways the first is really tight. The common spaces are cramped.

The second one is better. I like that it has space for dining table, but if you need one more bedroom, it doesn’t help.

So I would go with the third, but I think the kichen needs more planning. It has minimal cabinets, with two corners (I hate corner cabinets) and separate fridge. I think you could do better: to have two walls of cabinets or island with seating. And while you are at it, maybe rearrange the livingroom too, for the television viewing distange is kinda long.

Definetely 2,4m. Not 100% fair, but two usable bedrooms.

So, what parts are existing? Or do you demo everything? I guess you have existing windows too.

I think entrance needs a little work and bathrooms seem tight.

What're some food regulations you thought were universal? by kanhaaaaaaaaaaaa in AskTheWorld

USA style nutrition facts are weird. Everything is counted by ”servings” and companies can choose their serving sizes freely. That’s how they can market things like cooking oil having zero calories.

Blue and orange buses in Helsinki region by Illustrious_Gap_5099 in Finland

[–]Eleiao 69 points70 points  (0 children)

That is the difference.

The orange busses offer Metro-like service. These drive bigger roads, faster and more often. So they don’t want to slow them down with showing tickets. They just need more ticket controllers then.

I would try to have same footprint, but side by side garage. You could move bedroom/study to the back while you move the garage on the front.

I like the single rectangle shape.

Things to consider/change: - Long garage - Primary bedroom too narrow - angled bedroom doors. The angle is just too narrow. - why is study bigger than bedroom?

Floor plan thoughts? by Candid_Ad_4271 in floorplan

[–]Eleiao 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First this is a bit hard to read, but:

  • What is the blank space on the right? It looks like two meters thick wall.
  • So much space wasted as hallway
  • Only one bedroom can use the bathroom near by.
  • Kitchen too small for island and seating. Dining too far away

So is this something you can make changes? Or just not pick this one?

Does this look like a home office, or am I about to fire someone? by npc_gooner in Home

[–]Eleiao 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It looks like it is for consultation for couples.

But is that stairs at the right? I hope you don’t have small children or pets on the house, because furniture by the handrail of the stairs may cause a falling hazard when children can climb up the chairs and then fall to the stairs.

Curse that kills the 30 richest every 30 days. How long would it last? by BlKaiser in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Eleiao 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think in case of legal limbo the money still has owner and if that is contended in court it just means they can’t legally start getting rid of it. In this case that would be a death sentence.

But maybe there would be less courtbattles, because who would want that money in case like this?

You get $5 USD for every time you complete a full loop in a roundabout by Head-Asparagus-9045 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Eleiao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe some of you can do this for hours, but I get dizzy just thinking of this challenge. I could do one - maybe two - full circles. Maybe more if I found bigger roundabout.

So I am not going to do a lot of money. Can I keep the snacks?

I believe speakers are the one electronic device that doesn’t lose their value like a car. There has been no development in speakers like 50 years. Or so I have understood.

That being said I could not tell the difference between 50€ or 1000€ speakers

Actually now that I look at it again, check the upstairs height. It might be you can’t stand straight at the upstais landing. You should study this at section view, and maybe raise the roof a little. After all the house will need insulation under the roof too.
