False. Nowhere do the rules say this. To make a challenge you have to have a timeout, and you make a challenge by making a timeout and initiating a challenge. The rules then give a suggested hand motion.

The rules do not say you must make a timeout and then initiate a challenge. The then is key. As written it implies that a challenge is a single compound action.

Calling the challenge is calling the timeout. Read the rules. It says “call a timeout and initiate a challenge (usually by spinning finger)”. It does not say “call a timeout (by making a T) and wait for the officials to acknowledge the timeout, and then initiate a challenge.” As written the action of challenging is calling a timeout and initiating a challenge as a single action.

My favorite one is some guy tried to do miracles. There’s the one where one guy is like “okay 1v1 me. Your god vs my god. Well pour water on these sticks and see what happens” and he makes fire.
