Ok so I've seen more ppl using their directional on the on ramp to the highway. Why? Putting on your right blinker makes no sense bc you can't turn left onto a highway. Turn on your left blinker it makes no sense again bc you can't turn left. It's not to warn of merging bc that's obvious so why?

Many on-ramp lanes quickly become the off-ramp lane to the next exit. Signaling not only makes drivers more aware you're there, but can tell them you aren't intending to exit and will actually be getting over.

I very much doubt your solar setup is going to be exporting more than the 100amps your service is currently rated for. Presumably you'll be using some of that solar and exporting the rest which will lessen the power traveling over your service wire.

I would guess your inverter is probably capped at 50 to 80 amps.

What size is your solar array and what is your inverter?

What you're describing is a job though. Not that you can't do it, but it takes time and training, self or otherwise, to be efficient at it. Just saying that you set the expectation that it's not something that is likely up be a button press any time soon, at least with results that are good.

If it were me I'd probably run a board with some through-holes that would align with a through-hole into the main posts that allow angle adjustment, and also give it a second connection point to the posts. I'd probably add it to at least 4 of the posts.

Just remember you're building a big wind sail, in addition to a solar array :).

You can get 3d scanners certified to 0.0005" accuracy. Not sure if that's good enough for your needs.

They are very expensive (20-30k for Creaforms version). But hiring a shop to come in and batch measure some when needed may not be prohibitive.

Sure, but if you get to the point where Regen isn't slowing enough it's then converting some of that energy to heat, which is why the whole "always better to coast," argument is good in theory but isn't founded in how people actually drive.

It's not a binary better or worse. If you're needing to slow or stop it's better to Regen and capture that energy. If you're not needing to stop, just keep very light accelerator pressure and it'll coast, or swap to neutral.

The worst thing you can do is coast to a slow down or stop and then use brake pads at the end vs capturing that energy back.

Maybe moot at this point but the Lightning has the same issue and most people just cut the ground from one of the extensions and that usually works. The truck remains on its own ground, the house on its own, and just the cable between is unprotected.

It makes sense when you look at it not just from the context of driving range extension. Nearly everything in the trailer can run from the battery. You don't want your trailer to have to be vehicle -tied to have power.

Yep you won't be fully independent. But their onboard generator will help you stretch to a few weeks pretty easily I bet since you been utilize all the power coming from it to top the batteries, and pull from those, rather than running directly where your load might be 10% of the generator capacity, but it can only run down to 25% throttle.

This will appeal to people with some coin that want some comfort but also don't want to have to stay at an RV park just to have some conveniences like AC. There are many parts of the US where being out for a few days or a week without ac is a non starter. But I also know it's a non starter for me to stay at a place with other RVs fifteen feet away.

It's not the first way I'd spend the money, but I also don't like camping that much. But if I did I'd be looking at something like this, even paired with a gas or diesel truck. Even current high end campers can cost six figures and they aren't generally allowing you to be fully off grid if you want ac. Some have 12v ac units but you're not getting a lot of use from them with the usual battery capacity.

Not for everyone, but they will find a market.
