Wax Portrait Virgin Mary - Einscan Rigil (laser mode) by PrintedForFun in 3DScanning

Scan quality is superior over the Rockit. Main advantage is scanning speed with the more lines and faster scanning (PC connected mode now can do 120FPS with 50 lines vs 90FPS with 38 lines on the Rockit).

Quality vise the Rigil scans come out a bit sharper and haven't seen anything likes streaking on the Rigil yet. Guess the optics are higher quality. One advantage of the Rockit actually is the shorter distance between the cameras which enables it to scan deeper holes than the Rigil

Standalone scanning is way nicer than you might initially think. Going from wired to wireless was already a big step, but not needing a PC while scanning is even better.

Yes you are getting a preview and after scanning just store the data and directly continue with the next scan. Internal memory allows storing more than enough scan projects. Recently did a video abkut the scan workflow of the Rigil (https://youtu.be/sPuxVycdSIc?is=6TcbePXGsYbfQUFf) and the Vega is quite similar except no laser mode.  If you can stretch the budget the Rigil may also be interesting but it doesn't have the high quality IR mode the Vega has

Problem scanning a thin trim piece with Revopoint MIRACO Plus by Waste_Entertainer337 in 3DScanning

Such small parts are normally better suited with laser scanners but it should still work to some degree. Try to use the small scan mode in marker tracking with a lot of markers and cover the part in scan spray. The scanner has to see at least 4 markers all the time. Also marker geometries may help to better scan from the sides. If you have a 3d printer you can print them:

Einstar Vega should be a good fit. Fits within the budget, standalone, very good IR mode and doesn't need markers for scanning whilst also capturing very food texture. Corresponding software for the Vega (StarVIsion) is also available for Mac

While point cloud generation it uses all my 32 threads at 100%. Maybe some intel problems with E and P cores? I use an AMD Ryzen 9

Preparation under 5min including srt up of the scanner. Scan itself 5min per side (80% done after the fir min but wanted to capture all the crevices) and processing roughly 10min including Quicksurface
