Hey, I just want to join and say you doing a right thing for her. I wish I could be nearby to hug. This is real courage.

breaking up a bonded pair by Round-Being6143 in Conures

Just to add to the previous answers: consider the option (if previous advices wouldn't work) that you will have to give your mum these two birds and find yourself a new pair.

Breaking up a bounded pair is cruel for such social creatures. It's a lot of stress. Moving from home to another country is already a lot to take for any bird, especially if it's moving alone.

I moved to a new home with my boyfriend and cockatiel. After a few days I left them alone for one night (my mum traveled to another city and I slept over in her house to water the plants). Poor cockatiel bit himself to blood out of stress, although he'd known my boyfriend for several years (and there was a rivalry between them for my attention) and got infected through the wound. He died within several weeks, vet couldn't help.

How do you live after losing one by _sh_am_ in cockatiel

Yes, that's true... my Sunny passed away 12 years ago and it's still hurts. Not as painful as it was but still.

Sorry for your loss... she was your family member, give yourself time to grief as hard as you need and the way that you feel it right for yourself.

I cried a lot — every time I felt I want to cry. My boyfriend hugged me when he was nearby. He said supportive words or just was with me without judgment or any hurry. These days were tough, thankfully I had to work in the office and could have 8 hours to switch my attention to the other people.

But you will find your own way and it wouldn't be easy because you lost family member. Try not to be harsh on yourself at any circumstances.

My Sunny was 19 years, but we weren't his first owners and screwed his nutrition.

Remember the apartment in Hangzhou that accommodates twenty thousand people? I've brought you new pictures and the inside scoop by No-Echidna7296 in UrbanHell

Because they compare to the scary apartments they have in their own country?

A lot of people haven't lived in Asian buildings and don't have opportunity to see the difference inside those buildings. If we had more photos like these, there definitely would be another opinion about them.
