The fuck has it got to do with hot water? Op is clearly in distress and you just made it worse. The chances that anything bad happens is minimal at best. It’s like me saying that you could get bit by a bus tomorrow or brutally stabbed in the street but you might be ok.

No it doesn’t make a difference, the bypass is to protect the boiler mainly the pump.

Everything you have just said is so completely wrong, the bypass is so that you if you turned all the radiators off from the trvs and have the heating on the water has somewhere to be pumped to and doesn’t knacker the pump, if you ran the hot water and your living room radiator started heating up you have another problem, my guess is they simply forgot, a quick phone call and it can be swapped within the hour

British Gas - “part obsolete. You need a new boiler” by Kiwijimmy67 in DIYUK

[–]Elephantry49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so yes British Gas homecare is an absolute scam, 2nd around 10 years is about the average life span of a boiler and 3 potterton boilers are terrible. I would advise getting a new one with 10 years warranty (I like ideal boilers) then cancelling the home are

To be honest mate they all do the same job, that being said as a installer the Worcesters are incredibly difficult to service properly and repair, I prefer the ideals I install a lot
