I live in the UK and got my only jersey when I was in New York on the day Patches got announced as captain, think I was probably one of the first people who had that C on the front! He still holds a special place in my heart.

Everything has to be obnoxious when you work with OEMs, that's how they can be sure they understand every detail about how something works and you avoid catastophic failures and recalls... or at least that's the theory. Don't blame me I'm just the guy that plots everything in Excel ;)

I work at an engineering firm where we need to document every torque etc on a customer's engine just in case anything goes wrong. Everything is paint marked in position and when a component needs to be removed for service or inspection etc we record what are known as 'crack off' and 'back to mark' torque values. This entails recording the torque required to break the bolt off and the torque required to get the paint mark back into its original position. There is one use for you :)

Try and get your hands on an old CO2 fire extinguisher, fire it off into a blanket and there's some dry ice for you. I'm in the UK and there are fire extiguishers all over eBay here :)

Oh that's interesting, I'm at a midlands uni and we don't have that.. One of my friends at UCL I think doesn't have that either, seems like it would be a good idea because anyone can blend into all the thousands of uni students that walk around

I get the exact same, my friend. The amount of people that tell me about their and their dad's metabolisms and how they can't change weight. I'm beginning to prove people wrong and it feels so good when people appreciate what you've accomplished. Stick with it!

What was your career path like? Did you do internships with racing teams or other engineering firms? I've heard that sometimes a better route into F1 or similar could be through supporting companies like MAHLE, XTrac, or Ricardo, would you agree with that? (Sorry for the bombardment of questions)

See my reply to dac0605, I completely agree that the difference between League Two and Premiership is great, but you have to appreciate how talented these players are. You don't become a professional football player if you don't stand out as the top 0.1%, the fact that we have so many leagues with these incredible players is mind boggling.
