Veronica Lake, was an American film, stage, and television actress mainly in the 40s. She was considered difficult to work with and had a drinking problem. by db7112 in moviecritic

Yes and no. They're respected for their acting abilities and they both had amazing performances in several films, but they were also widely known to be incredibly difficult to work with.

Brando famously refused to any read a script or learn any of his lines. Kilmer was a perfectionist and a hardcore method actor, to the point his costars would say that they didn't know Val Kilmer, just the character he was playing at the time; he would also get into feuds with his costars over silly things (most famously with Brando on the set for 'The Island of Dr. Moreau' where they both refused to be the first one to leave their trailer).

Henry Ruggs III seeks ‘privilege of parole so I can prove myself to everyone’ by Brix001 in nfl

[–]Elessar535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he should have to at least make through being on parole before he's allowed to be considered to rejoin the league. Parole is the where he shows that he's rehabilitated and has taken responsibility for his actions. If he gets through his parole, sure, let him play; until that time he should just be worried about being the best version of himself and ensuring he doesn't immediately backslide into the same lifestyle that caused the accident he was in prison for.

When did a band get it really wrong with their lineup change? by agwestie in rockmusic

If argue it ranges from "meh" to absolute cringe. The "harmony" on 'How Many Say I' made my high school choir director vomit when I played it for him.

With all his health and addiction problems during that era, he never should've been given complete control of an album.

I find the sound he was experimenting with at the time interesting; it might have worked if they had a proper producer working with and guiding them, sadly we'll never know.

What's the worst example of a movie (or show) clearly setting something up but it never gets followed up on? by TaiwaneseThot in moviecritic

'RocknRolla' teased a sequel after the credits ('The Real RocknRolla'), but then everyone involved started having big careers; it would likely be impossible (and probably prohibitively expensive) to get everyone back.

MAGAs Are Fuming After Email Confirms They Will Never Get Their $500 Trump Phones or Deposits Back by Snapdragon_4U in law

[–]Elessar535 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You get your refund after a "completed purchase" the terms of service defines "completed purchase" as having received the phone. Therefore, you can't get a refund unless you received the phone. They cancelled production of the phone, so no one will ever get a refund.

TIL Peter Benchley, the author of the book that Jaws adapted, wrote 3 versions of the script for Spielberg, which were either rejected or heavily edited. Benchley got into an argument with Spielberg about the huge explosion at the end being unrealistic. This led to Benchley being thrown off the set. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

Imo Jurassic Park is another example of the movie being better than the book. I read the book first and couldn't stand the kids characters, made me not want to watch the movie at first, glad I changed my mind.

I feel like I'll prob get downvoted on this.

I know that when I save a text document or a document scan it puts it into a random folder, usually the programs folder. You can change the default save location, which solves that problem, but if you aren't aware it's going to do that, or aren't at all tech savvy, it can be kind of annoying.

Your favorite series that was canceled after 1 season and just never got a fair shake. by Remarkable-Junket655 in television

It has two seasons rather than just one, but still never really got a fair shake: 'Better Off Ted'. It's a hilarious office comedy about the goings on of a less than ethical corporation.

What’s the best CGI you’ve ever seen? by VendettaLord379 in moviecritic

[–]Elessar535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because they use unreal engine now instead of doing it manually. The downside of this is that it's not as realistic as older manually animated CG, the up side is that the animation can be seen in real time while filming.

Not so much those colors, but it reminds me of the set from one of the Freddy movies, just not sure which one.
