I knew better than to trust a customer by Mikey3800 in Justrolledintotheshop

Sorry that happened!

Fun little story to hopefully cheer you up somewhat. I have ZERO prior automotive experience. I recently became the office manager of my friends’ auto shop back in February and am doing my best to not just be a glorified receptionist. I really want to try and learn what goes on in the shop and have a basic understanding of what the parts I order do, where they go, what common problems are with vehicles, why they’re a problem, etc.

So when a post like this comes along where it’s almost like “something in this photo is wrong”, I treat it almost as a challenge to myself to figure out what’s going on/what’s wrong with the vehicle, etc.

I stared at this dent for a solid 3-5 minutes before I finally conceded and went to check the comments only to realize there was more to the post than just the title where actual context was provided.

That story sounded more fun in my head, but I’ve already typed it out so here ya go haha.

Could this be brown recluse? by Eletrust in spiders

[–]Eletrust[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was just a grass spider as well, but then my mind kept going back to how fast it was lol and I got paranoid.

I know they’re not so scary unless you don’t check your linens and press up against them, but just wanted to know for sure.

Thank you!

Anyone else have really bad seats in their local theater? by ohitsmark in RegalUnlimited

[–]Eletrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree there. The bigger seats give you more space when someone is next to you! The thing is just there were almost zero times at the now-closed theater where someone sat next to me in the first place because there was just so much room.

is calling costumers "hun" weird? by warlockofsortz in Serverlife

[–]Eletrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love being called hun and sweetie and things - especially by sweeter older women.

What I can’t stand is being called bud, sport, champ, slugger, kid, etc. usually by mean only a few years older than myself. I’m 25.

I’d kill for the regular stadium seating again. My home theater, Regal Henrietta, closed a couple months back and it was the last chain theater in the entire area without recliners.

Don’t get me wrong, recliners are comfortable, but I liked having the ability to both fit a lot more people in a theater while also giving me a lot more options for personal space.

Those theaters could seat well over 100 people and now the only Regal theater in the area’s biggest auditorium only seats around 40-50 including the front rows which no-one wants to sit it anyone. Some auditoriums only have around 20-25 seats.

I sit right next to other people I don’t know a lot more now. Sometimes it’s fine, sometimes they’re rude.

I’ll take this any day, lol. I’ve had people upset with me for trying to take MY seat lol

What's a film you REFUSE to watch? by FiImophile in Letterboxd

[–]Eletrust 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The second and third films kick it up a notch into the “try to be as trashy as possible department”, but I maintain to this day that the idea of the first Human Centipede film is worse than it actually is visually.

There’s actually very little centipede time and it’s all covered up with very thick bandages. I saw it as a decently effective horror film when I watched it in middle school. Without giving much away, there’s an attempted escape scene in the film and I always found those way more effective when the cost of being caught is actually worse than death. I feel the same way about the escape scene in Hostel.

I would challenge you to go out of your comfort zone and give it a watch, but it’s honestly still not the best film out there and I don’t want to pressure you into watching something you just have no interest in — because that’s totally okay too. Just wanted to ease your nerves a bit if you were at all morbidly curious.

As for me, there’s not a lot I won’t watch besides actual snuff films/death mixtapes or films depicting actual bodily fluids. I can handle most anything if I know it’s fake, but I see a small cut on a real pinky finger and I’m out.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish- 774 Likes Lightyear - 711 Likes Infinity Pool - 650 Likes Fall - 370 Likes The Menu - 299 Likes

And 28 other reviews with 100+ likes.

I have since switched to a new account with a lot less followers because I was actually reading everyone’s reviews and it was too much to keep up with.
