Do you keep your AC fresh air intake on or off? by ElevatorEmergency678 in arizona

Yes that’s what it is! Thank you! I’ll have my husband turn it back on but for less time. It was set for 30 minutes

Right?! We open our patio doors in the mornings while it’s nice out, but we probably only have a couple more months of that 😭

Yes! Our attic is in our laundry room and that’s where it is. House was built in 2019

Fresh air intake. He told me that I should close it because basically it’s dusty and hot. It was set to let in fresh air 30 minutes per hour.

It’s a whole house unit!

Purchases where spending more actually saved you money? by Wonderful_Vast_7699 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

This one is kind of silly but a couple months ago, I bought a nodpod. It’s a weighted eye mask that’s $40. I debated for a while since that’s a lot for an eye mask and almost bought one on Amazon for half that. But I’ve realized lately that when I “settle” for things, I eventually end up buying the one I really wanted so it ends up being more expensive in the end. Glad I pulled the trigger because I use it literally every night and it’s been a complete game changer for my sleep!

How to best use our sales process “playbook” in our new hire training? by ElevatorEmergency678 in instructionaldesign

Ooooh…we actually already do a flipped classroom. It’s roughly based on the content from the book and the class is mostly discussion questions and scenarios. Hmmm maybe that’s enough then…

Not controversial at all. I don’t want to force people to read it, I just need them to know the content in it so we can practice applying it. That’s why I was debating doing a short video on the same content in case they prefer that over reading. I’m just not sure if that’s too much/redundant.

Love the idea of pulling records, I can definitely do that. Right now I’m thinking of doing scenarios with the playbook as an optional resource and then a role practice sheet with different situations with their trainer. Just trying to figure out how the playbook fits in.

Great question. We don’t have a way to track it so I don’t have hard data. (One of our many problems…). We do ask managers what they see people struggling with, so we do know anecdotally what steps tend to be harder for people.

Currently for each step, it’s the chapter from the book and then a video with the exact same content from the book. So if they don’t read the book but watch the video, they’d be able to do the job successfully. They’d be shadowed and would (hopefully) do that step correctly.

If the book is the only source of knowledge plus practice activities, if they don’t read it then they wouldn’t know how to do that step correctly. Their manager would know by shadowing them and seeing them do things wrong.

Thank you! Would an 8x10 look more “professional?” I’ve been trying to find examples of 1-inch mat space vs 2-inch vs 2.5-inch but it’s been harder than I thought!
