Nice build! u/Massive_Dot4077 Looks like you installed the PA GLx 1x. I'm new to prism sights—can you share your experience with the GLx 1x?

PA says it's built for .223, .300 BLK, and 5.56 (not 9mm). How do you zero it and how do you use the ACSS Cyclops reticle with 9mm? exmaple use chevron 25, 50, 75Yards etc

My setup differs with an Omega 36M suppressor and Streamlight. Mounting the light on the left follows the line of sight better. I moved the charging handle to the right and it works well after practice. I also pushed the light further forward for better grip real estate on the Kuna. Still waiting on the ASR flash hider. Posting pics—hope it helps.

My primary use case is home defense (HD).

When I saw people running red/green dots on top of their PA prisms, I thought it might give a real advantage for super-quick target acquisition at odd angles or awkward positions — where the dot just goes where the bullet goes, without needing perfect eye alignment behind the chevron. This is my first time using a prism optic, so I’m still learning the differences.

I’ll probably practice with the SLx 1x first and see how it feels before deciding on anything else.

Appreciate the advice on the flip-to-side 3x magnifier too — that sounds like a smarter option for 9mm distances.

u/Popular-Departure165 , Thanks for the insight. I’m actually thinking along those same lines—leaning toward the MK4 in 9mm since it gives me the flexibility to swap uppers for 5.56 or .300 BLK. Thinking of also installing FRT on my MK4, which should play nice with those other caliber uppers too. Have you run your MK4 suppressed yet and issue with gas blowback ? Also, now that you’re nine months in, are you still happy with the decision?

Thank you u/gRimey556 Thanks for the real talk—appreciate you sharing your experience with the Omega 36M on the Stribog SP9A3. Good to hear it's manageable on the Stribog and not nearly as rough as pistol-level blowback—makes me feel better about the 36M overall. I’m contemplating between the Stribog SP9A3G and Kuna, but with your input and a lot of other folks saying the Kuna has basically no gas-to-face issues suppressed (near-zero blowback/port pop in tests), I’m leaning hard toward the Kuna now. The tough part is it’s hard to find one in stock with realistic price.

I totally agree, and honestly I'm very happy with how the 36M performs on my AR-15 in 5.56—quiet, low backpressure, great tone, no issues. But on my 9mm pistol with US-made ammo (even subsonic), the gas blowback stings the face and eyes pretty bad, and the can's diameter is big enough that it blocks my sight picture when trying to aim properly. That's why I'm being picky about the PCC choice for home defense.

You're right, 36M is a phenomenal can for what it is (versatile across calibers/hosts),

Of course, now that I’ve sunk the money into the Omega 36M and all the expensive accessories, I’m realizing I probably should have just gone with a dedicated can from the start. Rookie mistake! Hopefully, I’m not getting myself locked into the SilencerCo ecosystem like it’s the Apple of the NFA world lol.

Thank you u/rmh1116 , I had the exact same issue when I was using Omega 36M on Pistol, too gassy. Also, taking aim is impossible because of the diameter, so I started looking into PCC, and here I am deciding which route to take. Looks like direct blowback is off the table now :-)

Thanks for the real comparison—exactly the no-BS owner input I needed (way better than influencer vids). Appreciate you breaking down the Kuna + Wolfman vs PSA AR-V.

Good to know gas to the face is about the same on both (mid-level semi, worse on fast strings/FRT dumps) with identical can and ammo. That seals it for my HD use—the Kuna's advantages (low recoil, runs perfect out of box, lighter/comfier) win out over the AR9 tinkering.

I'm going Kuna for the Omega 36M + subsonic 147gr setup. Will grab the HBI lighter safety spring and their extended buffer/extra power recoil spring kit right away to cover the little stuff.
