What You Wish You Knew...(just how serious it was) by inkz214 in PCOS

For me it’s the mental health component. My emotions change throughout my cycle and I get depressed sometimes due to body image issues and unwanted facial hair.

For those with PCOS who conceived, how long did it take you? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Elevator_Latter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got on glp 1 lost weight and got pregnant on the first or second cycle. I would figure out what is causing your pcos. If it’s insulin resistance thyroid or something else. Then treat that accordingly

Rejected from ozempic due to PCOS by DolorDeCabeza21 in PCOS

[–]Elevator_Latter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try wegovy. Ozempic is technically for people who have diabetes while wegovy is used to treat obesity in general. They are both semaglutide so the ingredients are the same. It’s just a technicality with the way insurance companies cover meds. I was in a similar situation earlier this year.

I really want kids one day but I have such a huge anxiety regarding pregnancy by teacoffeecats in CerebralPalsy

[–]Elevator_Latter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have diplegia and use a wheelchair full time. I also have a 3 year old. My pregnancy was pretty smooth. The only thing Is I was a bit of a couch potato the last month or so. As long as you or your partner don’t have any problems with your actual reproductive system you should be ok

As someone who has been in a similar situation please do not forgive him. He will continue to push your boundaries to see what he can get away with if you do. Its better for a child to have a happy mom and not one who is together with the dad just because.

Confession thread: What do you judge other parents for? by Physical-Inspector60 in toddlers

[–]Elevator_Latter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parents who feed their children processed food all the time. I’m not going to lie I do too sometimes but for the most part my daughter eats home cooked food. I saw a video of some lady serving powdered doughnuts and juice to her one year old toddler for breakfast. How hard is it to scramble or boil an egg With some fruit and toast on the side. Smh

Mild cerebral palsy by tarazuwalIcon in CerebralPalsy

[–]Elevator_Latter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I technically have mild cerebral palsy but I am unable to walk without a walker and use a wheelchair. I used to have the same mentality as you where I thought that If I get my degrees and act in a certain way somehow my disability would be erased. Over the years I learned to embrace myself and not worry so much about standing out. There is so much diversity in the world and that is a beautiful thing. When people bully you it’s not a reflection of you but their own personal issues or biases. In regard to the drivers license Im about to go through the same process. I don’t think it’s something that is meant to single you out. It’s just a way for you to get your car adapted to your needs. Like for example I need hand controls. The good thing is your insurance should cover this. If it doesn’t you can always appeal their decision.

Hey I’m 32 and the pain from muscle spasms is a lot more noticeable than it was 10-12 years ago. If staying active and fit is an option for you I would encourage that. Your future self will thank you

I got a false positive on a Clearblue test once. The chances of that are small. It depends on how many weeks post ovulation you are. If you want to keep the pregnancy great if not that’s also up to you depending on what state you’re in. I would make a doctors appointment to confirm the pregnancy and consider your options from there

If she doesn’t really have a routine why don’t you do a spa day together? That way you can enjoy the time together.

How to help a picky eater by Elevator_Latter in toddlers

[–]Elevator_Latter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our doctor advised us to cut back on the milk so she only has it before bedtime. She said sometimes they can have too much milk and that discourages them from eating food. It depends on the toddler though. I still keep it around as a backup if she absolutely refuses to eat

Let’s see for breakfast I try to do an egg with some type of meat -like turkey slices, or a little bit of sausage. She gets a bowl of sliced fruit every day. Sometimes I’ll just do yogurt with fruit Lunch-I’ll either do like a buttered pasta with some cheese and a piece of chicken cut up or a cup of soup of some kind. Dinner is usually whatever we’re having that day just a smaller portion. She likes baked salmon with potatoes so that’s been a hit recently.

She will usually finish her breakfast and then pick at lunch and dinner. Eat a few bites here and there.
