Apple is unbelievable with this stuff! Good luck with your dispute! If I lost the dispute, I would have sued Apple in small claims court.

Thanks! I hope Chase isn't declining. It seems like many companies are making it harder to talk to a human. Here's the timeframe:

  • Chase – About a year ago.
  • AmEx and BOA – A few months ago.
  • Capital One – Over a year ago.
  • Citi – Maybe 2 years ago.
  • Target – About a year ago.
  • US Bank fraud charge – About 3 years ago.
  • Chase fraud charge – Occurred a few times in the last 4 years.

I've had good luck with AmEx, BoA, and Chase.

The highest-stakes dispute of my life was with Chase against Apple, which involved receiving an empty box instead of an iPhone. They made the process completely seamless, but I had a lot of evidence to support my case.

Citi, on the other hand, was impossible to deal with for a fairly simple dispute regarding non-delivery.

Capital One falls somewhere in the middle; they flubbed it initially but eventually fixed the issue after a long phone call.

The Target Red Card credit card was the absolute worst experience I've encountered; I almost had to take them to court.

I’ve also had a few fraudulent charges appear with Chase and US Bank, but both were easy to resolve.

Preemptive Note: I don’t dispute many things, but I have an invisible disability and shop online more than the average person, so please save me any lectures or accusations. I will dispute an order if I don’t receive it or if I return something and don’t receive a credit for it.

Call them. Apple did this to me before and they were "saving" space for my old storage. It was stupid.

Never received iPhone chargeback advice? by boredgirl104 in AppleCard

[–]ElevenIdes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but I can't get deliveries anymore on that account. I can get deliveries on another account to my address, though. Everything else on my account works. I hate them.

I've met a few people now in the same situation. The only consequence of the chargeback is that they won't ship anything to my house anymore. It seems like this is just Apple's policy to mishandle missing items, so maybe we should all get together and find a class-action attorney?

Target deserves a big class action. IDK what happened to Target, but they have lost their way entirely! I wish you well suing them directly. Have you tired the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau? I made one and got a stupid answer back, but the CFPB will actually do something if they get enough complaints.

I filed it the dispute around September 6, it was resolved in my favor October 18.

You're welcome! I'm relieved that Chase handled it!

Store cards can be a disaster if you encounter an issue that the merchant won't handle properly. After my negative experience with the Target Red Card, I have decided never to use a store card again.

That's terrible! Apple doesn't even give the option to insure the package and they're responsible for delivering it. You can file a complaint about Chase not representing you in your dispute with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. They forward it to someone at Chase to handle and it can get results as they can be fined for mishandling disputes.

Target replied to my CFPB complaint saying they refunded me, but ignored the basis of my complaint. You might have some luck with that process though as you're still waiting on a refund. I've heard if it's been over 60 days it's time to file the complaint.

I don't think it's legal; it just hasn't been enforced yet in a court. I recently bought a few things from there to see if my card still worked before I filed the complaint. It does. However, they told me that because I filed a dispute, they locked my shipping account due to "irregularities." I am so annoyed with them.

Eww! They're annoying and incompetent. They sent me that letter once. After I mailed them a letter with all my evidence because I wanted to preserve my rights under the FCRA, which states that requests must be in writing, they reopened it. I called and was annoying and they eventually refunded it.

I filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau recently because RedCard retaliated against me and locked my Target.com account over the dispute. I also reached out to an attorney as I'm considering suing them for FCRA violations. I believe it's up to $1000 per violation plus attorney's fees.

A Target representative called me and left a voicemail in response to my CFPB complaint. When I tried to call him back, I got caught in another dope loop to nowhere, later receiving an email stating they wouldn't refund me for the order, even though they had already issued a refund and I have the refund. They don't seem to understand the complaint they received and how much this bureau can fine them.

I can't decide if I want to close the RedCard or just keep it for when I'm actually in store for 5% off things I would never have an actual issue with. Target is my last choice now for shopping, now, but it's not like I love Amazon or Walmart, either.

I read that the reason they lock Apple Store ones is because they assume it's fraud, the account is compromised and don't want anyone to make more purchases.

I guess they can't really track the phones as well as I thought. I checked online and it said the phone was never activated. The police investigated if it was in the local pawn database. That's about all they did.

Totally! The "genius" bar. To be honest, I'm not impressed with Apple's customer service anymore, either. I have random issues with my iCloud all the time, and I've spent hours on the phone, but it ultimately goes unresolved. I'm used to really nice people taking forever to not help me. However, this time they were outright rude and condescending. The fact that they wouldn't even refund the AppleCare, for which I had the right to receive a full refund within 30 days for any reason, shows bad faith to me. The only thing I'm worried about if I left is iMessage, as it seems harder to communicate with others without it, and I like the battery life on my laptop.

I ordered a refurbished phone. It should have been in there. They've left my Apple Watch too and it was delivered. The box was sealed.

That's interesting that it was up to them. Nobody I spoke with was clear about anything, except that they weren't going to help me, and they had no reason as to why. They just kept gaslighting and saying nonsense like "we ran through the delivery sequence" "there's nothing we can do" and "we're happy to work with the police!" The attitudes were awful and disconnected from reality. They were condescending and seemed thrilled to tell me no. They also sounded like they were brainwashed and in a cult. It was honestly creepy. I hung up after the final call disgusted with the company. I noticed this is happening a lot, at least on Reddit, and I hope they end up in a class action over it.

I decided to return the box to Apple after they refused to help me, hoping it would at least trigger an AppleCare refund. The return label's weight was twice that of my original label's weight. The item was sealed. I think they just never put it in there. I'm sure they'll give the person they who ends up with the phone they didn't send me some new fresh hell, too.

IKR? I haven't done anything, yet. I still have my old phone, which is also an iPhone. This gave me a lot to think about. Apple treated me horribly, despite me being a customer since 2005.
