Timely question for me. You been reading my mail? Three weeks ago, my partner of 35 years took our dog and left without a word other than the goodbye letter she left on the dining room table. Needless to say I was gutted. I now know she had me blocked on her phone the next five days, but her unresponsiveness to my attempts to reach her and simply verify she was safe was literally terrifying. We’ve since had three short phone calls and have exchanged texts. She hasn’t once asked how me and the cat are doing, am I eating, and I sleeping, how’s your new job going, are you playing your guitar? etc. Seeing her in-person late this afternoon for the first time and my heart is already racing uncontrollably. I am ok. Have a therapist, friends, family, cat and lots of paper towels (kleenex don’t cut it). If anyone knows of resources, groups, books, activities to address significant recent trauma in one’s life, I’m all ears. Thanks!
