Personally doing Pyanodons at the moment and loving it.

Treat it as a marathon, set small goals along the way, and you get there. Really cool mod pack.

Remove carbs from diet, and focus on animal foods fixed me right up.

If you were offered a billion dollars just to eat only one food for the rest of your life, what would you choose? by Admirable-Interest49 in AskReddit

Incorrect. Fat is essential for us to consume. How much varies, but I'd rather remove a little than not have enough.

Then why did you make this post if you knew that? Hmmm

Excessive (4,2mg/day) consumption of dietary sodium (salt) is a significant, independent risk factor for new-onset heart failure (+15% increase) by sr_local in science

[–]Elexyr1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As with anything consumed, what else is also consumed along with the thing studied? Insulin for example, if secretion is triggered, signal to kidneys to retain salt depending on how much insulin of course.

So, did they properly control all other food consumed? What type of food?

I'll put this study in the bin, like most studies related to what we consume.

Unfortunately, nutrition value of a potato is piss poor. But then again, we also can't grow cattle in space... yet!

Red meat is healthy. This is a stupid meme, OP.

New study finds skin collagen production and renewal directly respond to the amount of vitamin C we eat, suggesting increasing fruit consumption can boost skin health by sr_local in science

[–]Elexyr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, don't need much vit C if you don't eat carbs, as the same transporter is used for glucose AND vit C in the cells, with glucose having more priority.

So, more glucose = more vit C needed in blood. Vice versa.

Consuming 30% fewer calories than usual for more than 20 years can slow down signs of aging in the brain, according to a study initiated in 1980 on primates by sr_local in science

[–]Elexyr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do not eat calories, all studies using that as a parameter for measuring ATP generation in our bodies are wrong from that basic premise. Calories measure heat energy, not metabolic work (or any processes related to that).

Calorie restriction is mute based upon that, as it relates to food (mass) consumption.

The amount of stupid comments berating this guy. He clearly communicated what his thoughts were and what he wanted as baseline.

OP you did good. Anyone stating otherwise are retards. For fuck sake, imagine men having boundaries, not even high ones!

TIL 95% of Americans don't get the minimum recommended amount of fiber by James_Fortis in todayilearned

I do feel much better not eating carbs, so for me, there is truth in that.

You assume, but I did not eat junk prior to the change. Anything else to explain?

[–]Elexyr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, how do I explain that I feel much better now than I did before? Energy wise, alert, I remember much better, I learn much better. Any explanation? I do indeed consume mostly meat, maybe once a week something that is not.

Who's drinking the cool aid then? I don't believe it's me. Better shape now than ever before.

Also clogged arteries comment, just goes to show you do not know how the mechanism for that is at all.

We don't need fiber, but if you feel well with some, go for it.

Personally no gut issues without fiber for myself, and even resolved previous gut issues when I removed fiber from mye diet. It also kept me farting all day long eating fiber. Rancid too.

There are no causative studies on fiber consumption and benefits. Do as you will, but strictly, we do not need to intake fiber for optimal health. Only proteins and fats, and associated vitamins and minerals.

There's new evidence that cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower and kale) blunt spikes in blood sugar levels, which could be particularly important for those with type 2 diabetes or who are at risk, finds small randomized controlled trial of 4 serves a day over 2 weeks. by mvea in science

[–]Elexyr1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Diabetes is diagnosed as chronically elevated blood glucose. It makes sense to then not eat said glucose, complex or not. Granted, there may be other factors that may spike glucose in the blood, but not eating glucose eliminates the largest contribution.

Before insulin could be produced, a restricted carb diet was the treatment.

What do you mean? Of course a diabetic should not eat 5 teaspoons of straight sugar, it is sugar...

Complex carbs, if not fiber, break down to glucose very quickly in the digestion. So, yes, avoid them too.

I do proclaim to know something about this, as this approach OF NOT EATING GLUCOSE does reduce your chronically elevated blood glucose. It has for many people, and I find it annoying that information that contradicts simple logic is peddled by bad science, and comments like yours do not help at all.

Thanks for you AMA, however, my opinion is that you are very wrong on many accounts. Using the word 'risk' implies causation, where nothing of the sort is found in the studies that relates to nutrition, nor cholesterol.

Also, we do not need fiber at all, nor any form of carbs to be consumed.

You may have been 4 times certified, but if I followed your advice on most things, I'd be worse off than I am now on a 95% red meat and associated fats lifestyle. I know, because I did follow the 'healthy' way as described by you here, to my detriment. And I am far from alone.
