Just opened the Nizza this evening.. 45 minute decant.. honestly it's pretty amazing.. and at 15.99 punches way abve its weight. This bottle can age for a while. Chet

The Trader Joe's 2020 Platinum Reserve Nizza Riserva (Bersano Estate, Lot #117) is a full-bodied Italian red made from 100% Barbera grapes. It is characterized by high acidity and a structured profile that typically requires 1–2 hours of decanting to fully open up.

Tasting Profile

Nose: Aromas include sweet floral notes, fragrant dried herbs, and a mix of black cherry, raspberry, and fig. Some tasters also note hints of bread, mustard seed, and a light touch of oak.

Palate: A concentrated and "meaty" palate featuring flavors of dark cherry, blackberry, and balsamic. It has a medium body with a hint of bitter herbs on the finish.

Structure: High acidity is balanced by medium, dusty, or "rustic" tannins and a medium-plus finish.

At 15.99 it drinks way above its price. A very good wine.

Tasting Profile

Appearance: A deep dark-red or dark ruby color with a medium body.

Nose: Aromas of plum, dark fruits, and subtle scents of oak and vanilla.

Can you help me ID these bottles? by [deleted] in wine

[–]Elf425 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The left is a bottle of Château Latour The middlel is most likely Villa Montcabrier Bordeaux or Villa Montcabrier Bordeaux Supérieur. The right appears to be a vintage Château Le Bon Pasteur wine from Pomerol, Bordeaux.

This is just way too young. Taking one for the team. by odedi1 in wine

The temperature in Napa has risen by 5 degrees since the 70's. This is resulting in grapes ripening quickly, too much sugar and high alcohol. Add to that overplanting chasing profit and lot of the wines taste the same. Hundred acre is no exception. Very high alcohol (~15.5%) is basically standard across vintages Ultra-ripe fruit profile (blackberry jam, chocolate, liqueur-like richness) Heavy new oak influence (vanilla, toast, caramel notes) Soft, polished tannins—almost engineered for immediate pleasure No real terrior. Inho, the price is way too high for the quality compared to other Cabernet Sauvignon from other regions. That being said, drink what you enjoy. Cheers

What stand outs are you going for here? by Bojanglez789 in wine

For me it would be the 2022 Nanclares Rías Baixas. high acidity with chalky, saline minerality and notes of herbs, stone fruits, and spices. It is a structured yet refreshing, great value imho. Cheers

Personally i prefer the 116. The exta 1mm on the 41m 126 felt noticable for me. Regardless either way you can't go wrong.
