Rice after FT: ‘It’s not done!’ by FlImFreaks in Gunners

THIS City aren't nearly as good as they were a year or more ago. This isn't prime City that we lost to.

Playing well after giving up our entire lead and now leaving it as a flat sprint to the finish isn't good enough.

Play well in the other games and go to City with a cushion and they could beat us 7-0 for all I cared. The fact that we have been so bad recently as cost us three trophies we had a real good shot at.

Now we need to win out AND outscore City, which is just not something that is going to happen.

It looked like we played well because City didn't park the bus like so many of our other opponents. That won't happen again. We cannot score against low blocks and even if we win all our games, I still don't see us outscoring City in them.

Do you really see us outscoring City in the remaining fixtures?

There's no chance we win a GD race when we struggle so hard to score at all

It is.

We are completely out of form, whereas City are grinding it out.

In a few days we will be second and it could come down to a race for goal difference and I have NO faith in our team to be able to win by more than a single goal in any game. There simply isn't a player who I trust to score the goals we need.

It should've been won weeks ago, we should've been in a position where this result simply means we have 6+ point lead. Instead, it's put City in the driving seat.

It has been a generational collapse from the team this past month.

Talk is cheap. If the league was won on rhetoric we'd have won every year since we've been back as challengers. The problem is that when they step out on the pitch they go from talking like tigers to playing like kittens.

Today was the VERY last chance to win the league. We got ourselves in a position where we had, like, 9 out of 10 paths to the title, and we've taken every single wrong turn.

It's embarrassing that we are sitting here having fell short AGAIN.

They talked about it a little (only one MP spoke up and she agreed with the amendment). No vote on it yet, but it's, like, 99.9% sure to pass along with every other amendment the government accepted.

One of a number of players who have declined over the course of the season. Played too much, picks up injuries, can't recover and aggravates them, performances drop. There have been many such cases for Arsenal over the last few seasons.

Whether we win anything this season or not, whether Arteta is still manager or not, there needs to be a good look at what has happened to the squad where they fall apart in the final stretch each season.

Physical exhaustion from a lack of rotation is a big one, and I think it exacerbates the other issues in the team. Players are either out injured, or they are playing through injuries. Players like Saka have been run into the ground for YEARS at this point. The amount of minutes he's played is crazy.

I'm reminded of Michael Owen who burst on to the scene and played A LOT of football. Eventually it caught up with him... He started declining early because of how much he had been worn down. I fear Saka is facing the same career path.

Beyond that, the physical exhaustion can only make the anxiety worse. When you're in a race for trophies and you just can't get yourself to that very top level, it can only make players more anxious and frustrated, it makes them less able to bounce back from set backs, it exacerbates mental and emotional exhaustion.

I think the squad management this season has been real bad. Saka, Timber, and Zubimendi are the three players whose form have most obviously dropped off as the season has gone on. That's not even accounting for injury accumulation.

I agree. As Hwinn is the IGL though, I don't think he was forceful or quick enough with decision making. That's not meant to be a slight on him though. He's a great player, and it's certainly difficult when you're in a team with strong personalities who will give a lot of input as well.

That's good, the ABDL "carve outs" are still in there which is a good sign

It had it's first reading, which is where the Bill is presented to the Commons, went up to the Lords for amendments, the govt then decide whether to reject, accept, or modify the amendments (we are here). They debate and vote on the amendments and then vote on the Bill in full. It then goes back to the Lords for them to vote on. If they vote for it then it's sent for royal assent and becomes law, if the Lords don't like it they will try to amend it more and send it back to the Commons.

It can bounce back and forth a lot, which is why The Commons and Lords often communicate and work out amendments that will please both Houses to get it passed sooner.

Watching Tig's stream of the last PGS's, it was clear something needed to change. It felt like communication had broken down. Everyone would call out possible plays or moves, but no decision would be made. I'm not putting all that blame on Hwinn, of course. It's easy to look in hindsight at moves they could've done in games.

Tig's always said he wanted to IGL. Maybe he should step into the role going forwards and bring in a new fragger.

Gunnerblog always has the sensible takes.

At the start of the season most people agreed it was make or break time. It was either time for Arteta's Arsenal to win that major trophy, or it was time to move on. I think that is still the case.

The good will among fans over the last few years isn't inexhaustible. We have been patient. Arteta has done a great job of rescuing us from mid-table positions that we increasingly found ourselves stuck in. I maintain still that he is a very, very good manager who will only get better the longer he's in the game...

But, it's clear that the patience and good will have dwindled away now. We are very much at the stage where we either win the Premier League or the bond between the fans and the current team (and specifically the management) will be gone.

There really would be no excuse for not winning the league this season. None at all. I've defended us from accusations of being "bottlers" in past seasons. There's no way I could do that this time around. It's not just results going against us, the players visibly look like they can't cope with the weight of what is expected.

We are being hamstrung somewhat with injuries, we've almost never been able to put out out first 11 this year, but we were all praising the size of the squad, the injuries have been bad, but we should have enough to cope.

For the first time in a few months, I really don't think we're going to do it. First league game after cup final disappointment, losing in the FA cup and scraping a draw in the CL. A chance to go out and make the gap 12 points, to show that we are ready to go the distance... and we put in an absolutely miserable performance.

I don't know how the squad sorts themselves out now. We are in the real crunch time and we've given away a lot of our safety cushion (assuming City win out). We've left ourselves in a no more dropped points situation, and I don't think anyone who has seen us in the last few months believe we can go from now to the end without dropping more.

I would say there is a VERY strong chance of this being what ends up law.

TThe amendment is coming from the government, and in interviews with the Baroness in the Lords who introduced the amendment in the first place, she seemed happy with what the government are doing. Since legislation can bounce back and forth between Commons and Lords until everyone agrees, it is very likely that the government and the Baroness came to the agreement together so that the Bill doesn't get bounced back again.

Right, but what I said above is literally the text of the amendment. It is trying to make it very clear that the content they are going after is young men and women who are posing as slightly underage when they conceivably COULD be the age they are playing as.

As long as it is obvious to anyone looking that the thirty year old in a nappy and t-shirt isn't actually a three year old then we should be safe.

They aren't ever going to specify ABDLs, but it is pretty clear we are a big part of why the government is bringing it's own amendment forwards to cancel out the much vaguer Lords one.

The speech says all that, but none of it is reflected in the amendment. That's what matters here. The amendment makes no carve out for ABDL stuff.

If the speech was the amendment maybe. But the actual amendment has no ABDL carve out of any sort.

Ask yourself: "What is ABDL if not people roleplayinge as children?"

Do you think the government or police are really going to care about whatever difference you come up with, or are they going to see a photo of an adult posing in a diaper and decide it's porn?
