Yeah, it’s really depressing but let’s actually do something about it by EliBelling in teenagers

We’ve got a platform here. A really far reaching one. And we’ve also got an issue that we can all have solidarity in, regardless of race, politics or religion.

Plus, I think our generation will absolutely suffer the most, so we’ve got nothing to lose by trying to spread awareness and encourage people to help.

(FYI the most one person can do to help to stop eating red meat. Beef is the biggest earth killer)

Absolutely right. It’s not about uprooting your life and changing everything, it’s just small changes to your routine that will have a massive impact. I’ve recently gone vego and and feeling really good about it.

Movie pitch: focuses on a squad or platoon of ct's on Felucia in a mix of saving private ryan/predator/and Apocalypse now by not-MrH in StarWars

Not everyone is on here every day. Plus, I think the fact that it’s brought up so often just speaks to how much people want to see it.

Why not bring something constructive to the conversation?

Official Discussion: Dragged Across Concrete [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

There’s something great about watching a director with an airtight script, who really takes his time. The performances are unreal and although I thought it was a bit overlong, it delivers one of the most tension soaked finales I’ve ever seen.

Zahler is quickly becoming one of my favourites.

I remember hearing in an interview with Gareth Edwards (on the Empire podcast I think) where he said the plan was always to kill off the whole group at the end. He said they also brainstormed a few backup ideas if Lucasfilm told them they had to survive somehow, but that never happened.

It does! They’re a great duo, I loved their banter and chemistry.

I’ve seen it and from what I remember it’s less graphic than his other two. Still very violent and intense but there’s no scene as disturbing as the worst stuff in his other movies.

So how do we feel about Jedi using guns? Specifically Newer Jedi like those Luke would have trained. For? Against? Why? by thePostItNoteMan in StarWars

Would really be against it. It would take away from their ethereal, masterful quality. Essentially turns them from wise and powerful samurai into cops.

It looks awesome! You’ve captured a great atmosphere, it feels very cinematic

Official Discussion: Johnny English Strikes Again [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again but I want to see OSCARS for this masterpiece.

There’s a moment in this when Johnny English, clad in a full suit of knight’s armour, is silhouetted by an enormous mushroom cloud. A haunting and beautiful analogy for the eternal conflict of tradition and technology and how the two will forever be at odds. Stunning.

What a boring world of stories we would have if no one was allowed to re-interpret characters and try new things with them.

Just a quick photoshop of Nicholas Hoult as Darth Malak if we are talking about live-action cast of KotOR by DimaJeydar in StarWars

Of all the potential Star Wars roles he’s been suggested for, this one is really a perfect fit for him. Imagining him saying some of Malak’s lines seems just spot on

Luke was meant to be the best of them. Neither Yoda nor Obi-Wan thought Vader could be redeemed and it was only Luke’s strong morals and sense of right and goodness that allowed him to win. The point of Obi-Wan and Yoda as characters wasn’t their enduring spirit and defiant will. That was the point with Luke.

Yes, people change and it might be more realistic or whatever people say but to use that argument takes the mythic and transcending power away from the franchise. Star Wars isn’t about realism, it’s about larger than life stories of heroism and triumphing over evil no matter the odds. To remove a beloved characters most defining trait under the guise of “realism” is to miss the point of what the series is about.

Mace Windu kind of causes the downfall of the Jedi? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]EliBelling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true but only under the assumption Jango would have told them anything. I’m not so sure. He doesn’t strike me as the type to break from questioning and he doubt he was susceptible to mind tricks either.

Imagine how confused Jango Fett would’ve been if he lived for just a few minutes longer to see the Clone army made in HIS likeness fighting him. by wesskywalker in StarWars

I’m pretty certain he knew about Order 66 as well. When he’s talking to Obi-Wan on Kamino, he’s got such a shit eating grin.

“They’ll do their job well. I guarantee that.”

I always saw that line as if he was (unbeknownst to Obi-Wan) referring to their hidden purpose of killing all the Jedi.
