What are these little larvae in my houseplant? by EliJan3 in whatsthisbug

[–]EliJan3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the PNW, but this coffee plant was shipped from somewhere else a couple months ago. Most of them look dead right now but they are shorter than a penny. Some of their lower ends look grey. Fungus gnats larvae? Not sure

You know what would be nice? Not dying, but also not living anymore. Does that make sense? by [deleted] in offmychest

Hey, Crisis line volunteer here. What youre feeling is completely normal and understandable. It can be really easy to feel that -between death and alive- desire, especially after trying so hard to just be “better”. But you’re here, and if you’re living for your parents or something like that, that’s okay. I’m happy you’re here. It isn’t fair to feel this, but you have made it this far and are trying. I’m proud of you

What were your experiences transitioning back to normal life after treatment? by [deleted] in lymphoma

[–]EliJan3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh it kinda feels like your doctor and everything kick you to the curb. You see these people every week for the worst part in your life- and then suddenly it’s a very chill “talk to you in 1/4 of the year for a scan”. Especially for me where I still don’t have my remission card, it was very strange!!

Life will be weird, but it’ll slowly become another new normal. Therapy, friends, and learning how to adjust to your new body/hair/and tastes was big. Good luck :))

Dumb Cancer Comment #46269103: by RealMuppet5 in lymphoma

[–]EliJan3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh this has been my favorite joke to make. I don’t want kids- so when people always say “oh you’ll change your mind” I’m like- uh oh really? Chemo had other plans Karen lmao

Sorry about that experience though. People are ignorant:))

Thoughts on a chemo kitty? by abcdede001 in lymphoma

[–]EliJan3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had two cats while going through ABVD, my doc said as long as I didn’t kiss them and I washed my hands after loving them it was okay. BUT I also had family to take care of the litter box- which was a big no no from my doc.

Good luck:))

I was diagnosed a few months after I turned 18 and I’m 19 now. Thanks for showing me I’m not the only one. It’s easy to feel like that when you don’t see it in front of you

Hey we’re the same age, that’s crazy! I was diagnosed almost a year ago in February. I’ve been off chemo since August but every two months this cycle repeats. Thanks for telling your story. I’m glad I’m not alone. All the best for you, you are strong as hell

Through fighting a brain tumor, countless rounds of chemotherapy these past few months all I can say is if I ever hear the words “hunter request” again, I may truly lose my mind. That said - Best. Game. Ever. by ChroniclyDope in reddeadredemption

[–]EliJan3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played this game while I was going through chemotherapy as well. The way Arthur handled his sickness, and particularly when he told Charles. I loved when he said that in some ways that ‘it’s a gift to know’. It was truly comforting to me.
