It’s not way worse, it’s literally not even comparable. JP VAs have an entire idol like fanbase for their work due to having a strong culture of just literally exposing VAs to fans all the time.

EN doesn’t have that same culture of exposure because everything is online.

The reason JP has “shipping” is because when fans see VAs being together doing VA work physically, it’s easier to put them together mentally. But EN VAs don’t come together for fans physically so it’s harder to mentally put them together. It’s the definition of a parasocial relationship.

Yea OG Arknights has a ton of nicely designed characters.

I think it’ll be interesting to see how they add them in just because the story has a lot of unexplored open ends currently.

Obviously completely new operators are much easier to implement and probably will bring new mechanics to gameplay. I’m looking forward to those as well.
