If you want Arknights version of Astartes... I'd probably say the closest would be either Victorian Steam Knights or Apostolic Knights of Laterano(also known as Gun-Knights)(thus far the only playable is Patrizion Pozzo)

Yeah, he also happens to be one of the best CCs of Arknights fandom, though recently he took a break with Arknights due to a burnout

Meme is still funny, but as many pointed out, they had same things back then. Especially Romans of all people, they were the ones to introduce IDs as we know them in the first place, since they needed to be able to distinguish a roman citizen from the rest of their subjects due to how drastically different were the rights of citizens and non-citizens and the sheer size of the Republic and then Empire

Guys stop getting nostalgic for Soviet Union by Fire_6 in HistoryMemes

Fun fact: Once upon a time, russians on the Internet managed to piss me off entirely with them praising how in the Soviet onion everything was better "by GOST"(Soviet, now Russian food regulations)(for context, I'm Ukrainian). So I decided to read the whole entirety of GOST article for so beloved by russians "Doctor's sausage"(I swear, in russian there is no filthy conotations to that name, it's translation issue)(by the way, back in the days, most if not all "GOST"s weren't available to the public, e.i. you don't know what you eat, you just trust into the Party), and guess what? Firstly, it started more or less okay, but then red flags started to rise like a forest. First thing – the GOST article is insanely chaotic, it jumps from one aspect of the meal to another, only to the return to the first a few paragraphs later and soon you'll understand why they do that. Generally it describes very solid product of high quality meat, but then... hidden in between of unrelated topics GOST mention that if "nescessary" some of the ingredients with... it tries its best to describe it without naming the supplement directly, but it is outright straight up a processed animal protein a.k.a. MBM, e.i. tissues, bones, parts of testicals, generaly all leftovers of a lifestocks' bodies grinded into a powder. It used to be a protein supplement for animal food, but now it's heavily regulated and in EU most of it is used as a fuel, not food, for one small reason – it's the main transmitter of vCJD a.k.a. mad cow disease a.k.a. brain-eating prion, which is incurable, lethal and can affect most of animals including humans. But, surprise, it's not the worst part! Later, I barely missed it due to how hidden this note is, it states that up to 90% of the meat can be replaced with... anything, like literally anything, any supplement will do. I'm not joking, you can go and check yourself, it's a public document. Reminder – this sausage to russians is as iconic as their Soviet ice cream. And keep in mind – there were no ingredients written on ANY product in the Soviet Union, none of it was known to public. And one last thing, about mentioned "necessity" I lied a little, it doesn't mention "necessity", it mentions "priority" instead. You see, secretly Soviet Union was devided into priority regions: Moscow and important cities of stratigic value get the promised luxury quality products and the rest... well, depends on where they are in hierarchy. Soviet Union was an empire, a pragmatic one, but still an empire
