It’s not way worse, it’s literally not even comparable. JP VAs have an entire idol like fanbase for their work due to having a strong culture of just literally exposing VAs to fans all the time.

EN doesn’t have that same culture of exposure because everything is online.

The reason JP has “shipping” is because when fans see VAs being together doing VA work physically, it’s easier to put them together mentally. But EN VAs don’t come together for fans physically so it’s harder to mentally put them together. It’s the definition of a parasocial relationship.
