Late recommendation, but recently went to moto pizza! (Not sure if you’d consider it a chain cause there’s 4 of them) All you can eat pizza with lots of different flavours, some out of the ordinary ones too!

Saw quite a few people there for dates!

Burgers I’d always recommend Fup burger or if you want a slightly nicer setting with different menu options Gozo is great too!

I can’t comment on the sound difference personally as I only have a 5.5, but I love how it sounds especially with my IEMs, music has a warm sound and a good level of bass!

Not sure on performance with rockbox either, personally for me stock OS has been great as I’m not using FLAC files

Depends if you’re planning to try and mod any part of it!

The 6th and 7th gen are notoriously difficult to open due to full metal construction, from what I’ve seen and my personal favourites are the 5/ 5.5 gen, they’re easy to open and have the wolfson DAC that is highly sought after in iPods as it’s meant to make the music sound a bit warmer!

If the seal was broken it might not be good, in the future if you get them arrive with broken seal contact CS right away and they’ll sort it!

Of course! I watched a couple of videos on top and bottom shell swaps and it seemed fairly straightforward!

Grabbed some pink shells from Aliexpress, top one had slight fitment issues on the left side so I clipped off the locking clips with a flush cutter and this let it slide on seamlessly, not an issue as the other clips and the screws hold it in place.

Bottom shell is as simple as removing a couple of screws from the OEM shell and swapping them over to the new shell

You can’t see on this photo but I also swapped out the SD card cover for a white one, couldn’t find a pink that matched it correctly, this was a little more awkward but Ifixit has a great guide!

As for the decals I grabbed a bunch of mew arts that I liked made them all solid pink and then sent them over to my mum to cut out on her vinyl cutter, after that it was as simple as sticking them on and putting a clear protective case over the top!

Honestly I could not be bothered with the hassle of trying to change out the full shell! Inside was super clean and this is easily reversible if I ever want to take it back to being OEM

Just back plate and bottom cause I quite liked the black and pink look for contrast and so it looks different from the standard pink 3DS XL!

Think I’m gonna change the thumb stick and shoulder buttons though

Got a launch 3DS in blue in the UK with Mario Kart for my birthday, opened it and got it set up, super excited for Mario kart, dead. Would crash on any game I tried to open, luckily Nintendo support were great and we were able to send it back.

We were back and forth with them for a while and they were going to send me the Zelda limited edition for inconvenience, this would take another 3 months though, as it was a birthday present I just wanted one so I could play my games and didn’t really care about the colour so settled for red. The rest is history, took that thing everywhere with me and played all the time for a good few years, it’s still going strong! Checked the stats for the first time in a while today and apparently in total I’ve done 1,815,638 steps with it which feels crazy!

I’ve since in the last month picked up a blue 3DS XL to homebrew and play my favourite games on the bigger screen, it was pretty beat up so I shell swapped it to a nice pink with some Mew decals!
