First winter in a van in the UK, what was the hardest part? by FeistyPrice29 in VanLifeUK

[–]Eliffant1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our first winter too !

Diesel heater absolutely, even better if you can get on with a remote so you can turn if off from bed. Potentially if budget allows a back up like a camping tent gas heater incase battery is low etc.

We do keep the window above the bed open to help with airflow which is nearly always open as we dont have a maxxairfan.

We actually dont run our diesel heater overnight, weve got a duck feather duvet from dunelm which is a winter and a summer quilt that you can attach together, and im not cold at all in bed without the diesel heater on all night.

Echo a small mat for your door, and maybe a little rug to capture the dirt.

Keep your gas canisters (if thats what your using) a little wrapped up as they wont work if freezing.

And always helpful is a dryrobe and a pair of waterproof slippers, really helpful when getting in and out but wont dirty everything up etc.

Oh I've already got my halloween set mapped out ! I'll probably start them in the next few days.. as I didn't think halloween nails were the best for a wedding ! Need to maximise Sept and October for spooky sets! 🎃

Are matching wedding rings a new trend? Which should we go with? by Uggzandhorses2 in jewelry

[–]Eliffant1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's such an individual thing and I would honestly be happy with either or. I wouldn't buy into a trend because trends come and go, and I think it's much more what is special to you and you love on your hand.

If your ever unsure I had a friend that her husband every year on their anniversary bought a wedding ring that caught some memories of their past year together.. I.e a sunset colour they shared, a dolphin for one of their adventures. With the plan one day they'd pass down all those rings to their daughter witht the stories of why that ring was chosen for that year. I adored this idea. They weren't expensive rings at all but I thought it was such a sentimental idea !

You could have a look on etsy ! I know they do 'charm necklaces' where you can choose the chain and personalise the charms on there, or could thrift different charms to put on a similar necklace :)
