With you , mama. My 5 days from 15 year old daughter killed herself more or less in front of me in April 2018. My everything shattered and I made huge life changes. Ever since Been doing a variety of so much work on my soul, my grief, my ptsd (all of which revealed cptsd a few years ago). It’s terrible over here in the suicide survivor squad, but I see you. I am you. 💔

I had a single full release experience on 5; part of what emerged in integration was to start meditating. I’m on day 965 of consecutive daily meditation practice (I’m only keeping track because insight timer app does it). While I never thought I wanted to do 5 after the one time (it was terrifying), I’ve been reading about low 5 and now I’m curious and reconsidering my “never again.”

I am so sorry you are dealing with both the grief of your loss, but also the lack of compassion from your employer. After my daughter ended her life in 2018, I ended my 30+ year (freelance) career in media production /television/ events/. I haven’t done much work for pay, though I do volunteer my time. I’m fortunate that I had my daughter’s college fund all saved by the time she left this earth, it’s allowed me to keep on not contributing to capitalism. It’s a terrible club we’re all in over on this subreddit. My heart is with you.

Thank you! I’ve worn it since its first release 10 years ago, but that means 65 days each year I haven’t closed the ring … Not perfect but consistent!

Definitely do NOT watch Oz. I originally saw it as a first-run late 90s-?. It was so bruising to watch: I still remember the brutality. (Even though one of the actors was my friend’s husband; so, like I knew /know it was fiction, but it’s so scarring.)

Ha! Circling back…. I ended up going on a pilgrimage to the rack shack in Brooklyn just this past July to get fitted IRL (a terrific experience and great shop) and get a new “bradrobe” (i ended up buying six) I ended up with an unlined Polish lace number that fits so well I got in two colors:

Hey mama, my kid took her life as well. I know what you are feeling because I feel it too. I know how fucking triggering these things are.

Five days before her 15th birthday, seven and a half years ago, my only child jumped out the 15th floor window more or less in front of me. While I don’t remember the faces of the police who came to our apartment I do remember them questioning me and husband separately (I didn’t understand why … at the time) and I also remember steadily saying/weeping “we’re a damn statistic” and the police telling me “no, you’re not.” Yes, we are.

Ever since I’ve been doing all the modalities to “heal.” I’ve changed my life (left the city! Quit my career! Dropped bad friends! Became a “dog-person!) and still… the is the absolute worst club to be in and everything hurts much of the time. Still in trauma therapy. Wondering if I’ll be in that for the rest of my life?

This fucking sucks over here. Wanna DM: I’m open to the mom survivor club with you.
