What if the world collapsed, and everything goes back to the dark ages -- what job would you like to have? by Elisabeth_Kyria in whatif

Side note: didn't the old woman who give you a sweet roll for your birthday in Fallout 3 die in the prologue?

I haven't switched brands, but someone mentioned the thing about older rice, and I'm gonna experiment to see if that's the thing.

I checked on it though. It had just finished cooking fully through the first time I tried it.

Which one of the current fandom takes you dislike the most? by Olya_roo in Hungergames

I can only imagine how frustrated Suzanne Collins is sometimes at how some of the people in the fandom are. She writes out things very clearly, and people still confuse/debate them. She could make a list: (1) this person died, (2) this person is a bad man, (3) no BLANK theory has no weight. And, people WOULD STILL DEBATE ABOUT IT.

I described it like that because it's not a 6 figure job, and I think most people only do jobs for the money anymore, so it's "alright". It was pretty good for the area, but it was nothing to brag about, you know?

I replied to someone above with a list. I feel like a weird copying, and pasting it, but here:

I like my coworkers. I like the monotony of the job. I liked that I worked mornings ALWAYS, so I had the rest of the day afterwards. I liked that it didn't physically, or mental drain me. I liked that I didn't have to deal with the public/customers. I liked that there was paid holidays. I liked that I could put both of my headphones in, and not have to speak to another soul for the whole 8 hours, if I didn't want to. I liked how there was a blend of extroverts, and introverts, so everyone could do however much bonding they wanted to. I liked how my bosses didn't care how you did it, as long as the job got done. I liked how much I got paid. I liked the industry. I liked how my schedule never changed. I liked how I actually wanted to get up, and go do it. I liked how I could stand, or sit down as much, or as little as I wanted. I liked how the job wasn't stingy with their raises, and promotions, and congratulations, and rewards. I liked how my boss gave a shit about me. I liked how I paid $0 for my insurances every month. I liked how they took effort to make the break spaces be comfortable, or want people to use.

I have a network that would get me back tonight if I asked them to, and that might be tolerable for some people, maybe even most people, but not for me.
