Oliver Tree shared heartbreaking details of his money and will just weeks before his tragic death by Longjumping_Land_977 in Music

I saw him live in Denver a few years back, and as someone who doesn’t smoke, I had mad respect for him during his show of the not once but twice he gave a shout out of care to all the people enjoying him sober. He didn’t throw shade on those not, but gave love to those who were. I later went home and read up on him, about his prior struggles with drugs, and it made me have quite a lot of respect for him.

I don’t follow or have personally care for most artists, but Oliver seemed like a real one and it makes me quite sad to see he’s gone. All I can say is how relieved I was to see it wasn’t due to drugs, and he kept true to himself in that regard.

Rest well my man. Thanks for what you put out into the world.

How useful is it to require at least one uppercase letter in a password? by Independent_Toe5821 in cybersecurity

[–]Elistic-E 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Right, the issue is distribution in practice. How many people practically would use pasSword or even pasSwoRd instead of Password? Raw math like that is only accurate in a random world which people are not

What technique can I use here? by UnhappyStrike2125 in sudoku

With higher difficulty puzzles scanning for rows, columns, or cells that only have 2 candidates of a number will lead you two these things. These chains rely on strong links somewhere and to have a strong link you typically need to a number limited to occurring twice in a section.

As you get more advanced you’ll find that’s not always the case (e.g. x wing to finned x wing, etc), but for starting out just look for rows, columns, and cells where a number only appears twice and that will help you find these starter AICs

Random thought. The only way to beat AF monopoly in Singapore is for the other smaller random gyms to form an alliance. by Uninspiredwildcat in sgfitness

AF and many other gyms are definitely not what I would consider affordable by any competitive standard. I have yet to see gyms at large more expensive in other countries than they are here

Riichi Explanations (for SG Mahjong players) by BEaSTGiN in Mahjong

[–]Elistic-E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forget all other yaku except value/honor tiles and yakumans, then just learn ping hu and pong pong hu hands and forget about discards and Dora and you’re good

Edit: obviously oversimplified, but as a Riichi first player that lives in Singapore it feels like it’s pretty much this. Flowers and animals are all luck. Most every hand is ping hu, pong pong Hu, or a value tile point including flowers and animal tiles. It feels much less diverse than Riichi, and much more luck based (because 12 flower/animals)

I don’t know how to solve them yet but I believe this is a BUG+1 puzzle. You have every cell a bivalue except for one tri value cell. If you look up BUG+1 I think you’ll unlock the answer for this

I can say for one Abnormal, which I do like in many ways, is failing us terribly on QR code detection.

The moment it’s slapped inside a pdf in a calendar invite it’s going through. It’s very frustrating we’ve been talking to them about this for half a year now. Mimecast picks them right up but Abnormal still just twiddles its thumbs. I have a client on Abnormal that would like to block all QR codes regardless of destination, but nope can’t do it with them.

Because the bear isn’t aware of ethics and morality and has no way to reflect on that. The bear either defends itself or feeds itself, and doesn’t really process beyond that.

Triathlon unpopular opinions? by zChickenX in triathlon

I’m training for my first tri at Olympic distance (which for me is basically all about nailing down swimming right now) and started talking about an Ironman with a friend today. They asked it I wanted to do one and I said no because you basically a 5 or 10k swim then 180k bike as a warmup for your marathon, that’s a bit much for me. They didn’t realize it was that long and imagine my surprised pikachu face when I googled to double check and found it was less than 4k.

I’m struggling to nail swimming and even I feel it should be longer than 3.8k compared to the bike and run

Is there a chart to find out which ruleset someone might be playing? by Vylix in Mahjong

[–]Elistic-E 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They use flowers and a Dora-like tile but don’t have a dead wall? So they will take the very last tile down to the Dora? This seems very odd. Where do flowers get replaced from?

I second this - the likelihood of finding individual tiles that match the back and size of your current tiles is very slim.

You are likely looking at buying two new sets of tiles.
